Unreconcile three months of bank statements in QuickBooks Desktop Pro

Thanks for getting back to us, @Tumbleweed99. Allow me to chime in and share additional details about unreconciling transactions from previous months.

Yes, you can still unreconciled from multiple months back and repeat each process to clear the transactions. Just ensure to create a backup file of your current status before doing any changes.

Also, it would best if you consult your accountant if undoing the transactions is the best option for you or they can suggest another way to fix the reconciliation. If you don't have one, no worries. Here's a link so you can find one near you: Find ProAdvisor

Then follow the steps shared by my colleague Archie_B to undo the reconciliation. Also, please note that undoing previous reconciliation also removes the cleared status of all its transactions, service charges, interest, and balance adjustments.

Once done, unreconciling, you may refer to this article on how to reconcile your account: Reconcile your bank account with QuickBooks.

Thank you for reaching the Community, Tumbleweed99.

I understand how important it is to stay accurate with your QuickBooks balance and how crucial it is to match it with your bank statement.

Prior to undoing a reconciliation, I recommend that you create a backup copy of your company file and reach out to an accountant. You can also check and print out your previous reconciliation report, just in case you need them for historical data.

Here's how you can undo reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Go to Banking menu.
  2. Choose Reconcile.
  3. Then click the button Undo Last Reconciliation.

I understand that I am able to unreconcile one month, the prior month.  What I was unclear on was whether I can unreconcile multiple months back.

If I can unreconcile multiple months back, do I just repeat the "unreconcile" process as many times as necessary?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply.  I only needed to know whether the undo reconciliation feature would work for multiple months in reverse.

I am the accountant for this company, but the accountant before me made a mistake in a reconciliation which I now have to fix.  I've never had to undo a reconciliation before, so was unfamiliar with this process.  Thanks again for the replies.
