Good day, @specialistsupple.
Combining multiple products from suppliers into one final product is unavailable in QBO. Though here's a workaround that was provided by Rustler, this might help.
You can create a vendor called inhouse, a finished product as an inventory item, and a cash type for a bank account called WIP.
Here’s how:
In this workaround, the cost accumulated in the bank account, the total paid for the inventory item, the stock with the quantity and the WIP bank are zero until you wanted to need it again.
Also adding this article here for a reference on how to set-up inventory in QuickBooks: Track your services or non-inventory items.
If you have any other questions, please post a comment below. I’ll be right here to help.
There is no assembly feature yet in QBO. Consider this app and integrate it with your QBO.

Hi,
When you say create a new vendor, do you mean create a new Supplier as I dont see Vendor in the Expenses tab, only Supplier?
You are correct, specialistsupple.
Vendor is just the same as Supplier. Click on New supplier to set up a new one.
I want to share something about creating a product. As what Fiat Lux - ASIA said, QuickBooks Online doesn't have an assembly feature. Although, we can set up a bundle item. This is a combination of multiple item. You can read this article for more details: Change Product and Service types. You can follow these steps on how to create a bundle:
Comment again if you need further assistance.
Hi,
Bundles do not work for me because I cannot track the total number of units sold as shown on the images.
There are 30 capsules in a pot of this product.
The capsules are bought from Supplier A and then Supplier B pots them at 30 caps per bottle.
Shows fine on the Invoice but not on a report.
I am trying to set up this as you first suggested but having trouble making 1 item from 2 suppliers and sorting out the payments to each.
Thanks
Hello again, @specialistsupple.
Thanks for adding screenshots and details about your concern. To help track the items and efficiently record them, you may want to use a third-party application.
We have a list of apps that are authorized to integrate with QuickBooks Online. Since every business and their needs are different, I'm unable to tell you what to use.
However, I can provide resources to help you pick which one fits best. In your browser enter this link and then click the drop-down to select the country: https://apps.intuit.com/app/apps/home.
To narrow down the process, type in a keyword in the Search box.
If there’s anything else I can help you with, click the reply button and post a comment. I’ll be right here to assist further. Enjoy the rest of the day.
Hi Kudos,
I have looked for an assembly app but there are 0 available.
So, will your 1st response work for me ie...

Hello there, specialistsupple.
Thanks for the quick response. Let me share some additional insight on how to combine products with one cost price.
While the inventory assembly feature isn't available in QBO, you can follow the workaround shared by our allstar @Rustler. The steps are outlined in @MaryAnn_E's post.
Though, some third-party applications aren't listed on our website. You might also want to check them.
You can refer to this support article about how to track your prepaid stock for your additional resources.
Please know that I'm always here to help so don't hesitate to reach out anytime. Cheers!

This app is too big and expensive just for my requirement.
Does the workaround you mentioned in your 1st response not suitable foe my requirements?
Is there a workaround to achieve that I need?
Thanks
Hello, @specialistsupple.
I appreciate you explaining how beneficial the ability to track the quantity on hand for bundles and include it on reports. While the feature isn’t currently in our development roadmap, we are working on big improvements that will be helpful for the majority of our customers, and you’ll see those rolling out soon.
In the meantime, you can visit our QuickBooks App Store and check for any supported third-party application that offers the same inventory feature you're looking for.
Also, I'd personally share this to our Product Engineers for consideration in future updates.
Fill me in if you have other questions inventory tracking in QuickBooks. I'm always here to help.

How much budget do you have?
This should be a standard feature in QBooks online as it was on the Pro version in the Quickbooks desktop.
I dont see why I should have to pay extra for a missing feature to be created as I only have 2 products which require this feature.
However, these 2 products never show the correct stock qty now.
There is no assembly feature yet in Pro. You may find it in Premier and Enterprise edition only.
