Thanks sorted now. Found the income account for this product and service was set as my current account, not Rental income. That's corrected it now, thanks for your help

Rental income not showing in reports for one particular customer but all attributes the same as other customers

Hello Tim181,  is the same thing showing in both the app and the web version?

Hi, I can’t get a report in the app other than an overall P&l which I can’t drill down to see if it’s in there. Unless I’m doing something wrong?

Thank you for your prompt reply, tim181. Yes, the QuickBooks mobile app may have limited reports and displays minimal information when drilling them down. Let me help you generate your report with rental income details for your customer.

The report's period and accounting basis significantly impact and cause missing accounts/transactions.

At this time, I recommend opening your report through any supported web browser on your computer or mobile device. Then, filter the dates correctly and switch the accounting basis from cash to accrual and vice versa.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
  2. Click on Reports at the left pane, then open the report you need (Profit and Loss).
  3. Set the Report period and Accounting method accordingly.
  4. Tap on Run Report to refresh the page.
  5. Review the details from there.

If the rental income is still missing, I suggest reviewing the customer transaction to ensure it's posted or recorded under the correct account. You can update it when necessary.

  1. Click on Sales, then Customers.
  2. Tap on the customer's name from the list.
  3. Go to the Transaction List section.
  4. Open and review the details.

On the other hand, I'm adding this helpful material to find out why your income and expenses went missing from your report: Why are my income and expense transactions missing from my Profit and Loss report?.

Additionally, you can get more hints while running your reports in our system from this article: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.

If you'd like to save the current settings of your reports, utilize the resources from this link as your reference: Memorise reports in QuickBooks Online.

Our doors are open 24/7 for assistance. If you have follow-up questions while running your QBO reports, notify me in the comment section below. I'm just a few clicks away to help you again. Stay safe!
