Am I MTD ready now as from QB I was taken to HMRC to allow QB to view my account, as in am I now just waiting for verification from HMRC?

It depends on the steps you have taken, @allyp1972. Happy to share more details about the process of connecting MTD to QuickBooks Online.

I'll ensure your MTD is linked to QuickBooks as soon as possible. This way, you can begin managing your taxes right away.

If you have signed up for MTD on the HMRC website, there is nothing else to do but wait for the confirmation. You should get a verification email from noreply@tax.service.gov.uk within three days of signing up. It might go to your spam folder. Once received, you can authorise QuickBooks to interact with HMRC. For complete steps, check out this article: Turn on MTD for VAT and connect QuickBooks to HMRC

But if you haven't signed up on the HMRC website yet, I'd recommend doing so. Before that, visit this link to find out what information is required and when you should sign up: Charge, reclaim and record VAT

Once confirmed, complete the steps below:

  1. Visit the HMRC website and select Sign up now
  2. Enter your Government Gateway credentials, then Sign in. If your business is not yet eligible to sign up for MTD, a message will appear to advise this.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once everything is completed, you can submit your MTD VAT return in QuickBooks whenever you're ready. Also, don't forget to record the payments.
