Hello JMAmas,

Thank you for confirming that - If when clicking on the Employee's on the left Menu, you see Payroll & Employee at the top screen also, then it will be standard.

The only way to change the paydates and the pay schedule on the existing schedule will be to roll-back the payroll, make the change to the pay schedule and paydates, and then roll it forwards accordingly setting the paydate.

If your client has erratic paydates that are not on a regular schedule (certain day of the month) for example, you may be better to migrate over onto our Advanced Payroll for that client.

The client will have been made aware when setting the paydates up on the paydate page that these cannot be changed (if they set this up before multiple pay schedules became available). The other option, could be to set up a new pay schedule, but that may involve recreating the employees and re-entering year to date figures and old employee IDs.

Hello JMAmas,

Which of our Payroll Software is your client using? I suspect our standard payroll; but i want to clarify?

We have Paysuite

QuickBooks Online Standard

QuickBooks Online Advanced

Hi there,

I would say it is QB Online Standard

Hi James,

Thanks for the reply. On QB the pay period dates have always been, for example, 28 October to 27th November. However, the client actually pays and provides hours based on full calendar month.

Therefore, the only way to change this is to revert all the pay runs? It can't be overruled by the background team at QB?

Thanks

Hey JMAmas,

Unfortunately; no - It's not able to be overruled by ourselves. Have they been running on this pay schedule since just this tax year on QB, or previous tax years too?

Our standard function payroll doesn't allow for a great deal of customisation of the payroll, including pay-dates - our advanced has been specially created on the back of feedback and this functionality has been included in this.

Normally, i wouldn't recommend a payroll switch unless i felt it absolutely necessary; but as you are an accountant, I wonder if the advanced might be better in this scenario. Our Advanced payroll is designed and built in with loads of value added tools, reports and functions which would benefit your client; and you could utilize these to good effect to provide your client with a better payroll experience than they'll currently be getting on the standard.
