I've just migrated from QB desktop to online. Not much employee/payroll data has been imported... just names and a few other items.
How do I import employee details such as NI numbers, pay to date, Employment Allowance to date, NI/tax to date, etc into the online payroll?
Thanks
Greetings, rjwbailey.
Welcome aboard in the Online Community. I’ll provide you some information regarding exporting QuickBooks Desktop data to QuickBooks Online.
When moving your data to the online version of QuickBooks, there are transactions that don't come over such as the Social Insurance numbers, National Insurance numbers, and etc.
For more insights, check out the following articles:
You'll need to manually enter the payroll details for your records to be complete. To help get started with using the Payroll feature, you can click on the topic found in this link. Employees & payroll.
That'll do it. You’re ready to pay your employees.
If you have further questions about using QBO, drop a comment below. I'll be glad to keep helping. Wishing you the best.

Wow. So all the information held electronically in QB Desktop payroll has to be printed out and someone has to go through this, employee by employee, and manually type it in to QB online?
What is the rationale for such a crazy approach? It's like changing ledgers used to be 20 years ago!!
