I changed from paysuite to standard payroll as required, I find I don't find it very useful. I would like to try advanced payroll but can't find a way to upgrade. I requested a callback but this hasn't happened.
Any ideas?

Hello Woodford,
You can not upgrade to the advance payroll your self, you would need to ring us or wait until your call back happens as it will need to be raised up yo our engineers as they would have to move you over from one to the other. I have put a comparison link in to help you which shows you the comparisons between the 2 products to make sure you make the right choice.

I have been waiting over an hour for a call back! In payroll you can't enter holiday or any other form of pay by number of hours, you end up having to work it out yourself and enter the figures and then delete other figures that are already there this is tedious. Is it any better in advanced? (please also see my previous post rf journal entry) If not I will just have to find another software provider.
Hi woodford,
The callback requests are returned in queue order, as we are currently facing peak period with the tax year end this may mean that these aren't returned as fast as usual, but rest assured an agent will be in touch with you.
In the advanced payroll, you can set the holiday pay to be entered by a number of hours so that the system calculates the amount for you based on this.
Hi
I've just had a reply about upgrading from Standard to Advance and guess what? Support is telling me ALL our existing payroll data is deleted in the process and will need to be re-entered - because of back end compatibility issues between the payroll platforms. This is possibly the worse upgrade path in the history of modern day software engineering.
Quickbooks sells the ideal it will simplify your life, apparently not. They don't even make this unbelievably stupid fact clear when you sign up.
Well done intuit, juggling with COVID 19, reduced staff and now a software company that hasn't even developed a custom report to download from Standard that can be uploaded to Advance... See discussion with support below:
Back in April I had this same problem. I was sold Standard payroll when updating from Desktop (user for 20+years) but standard payroll was not fit for purpose. When I upgraded to Advanced it was not possible to migrate all data so I spent hours and hours re-inputting data.
Quickbooks therefore offered me free upgrade as good will. I assumed my subscription Direct debit would increase after 6 months. I thought all was OK until today when I found that my payroll subscription has been made inactive. Seemingly I was put on a "free trial". I have over 70 staff to process before bank BACS deadline tomorrow and payroll is inactive. Spent an hour on helpline, transferred to Tier 2 technical team only to be cut off. I can't do anything til service department opens tomorrow.
My staff are expecting to get their Christmas wages but risk being paid late. Very upset
QB's need to sack whatever "genius" programmed their Standard and Advanced Payroll. It should be the same system with certain features being greyed out on Standard Payroll. Users can then choose to upgrade/downgrade from the Billing & Subscription page just like they can with the main Quickbooks package.
Since it's been poorly coded, users need to have QB's manually swap the package (which they call migration). As part of this, they should export and re-import all the payroll data.
Come on Quickbooks! This is very aggregating!!!
