Happy to help, @alison23.
I have troubleshooting steps to help resolve the direct earnings attachment calculation. This way, your employee records are always accurate.
The direct earnings attachment can be computed with the net salary in QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll. The program should reflect or calculate the right amount as long as the setup is correct.
It sounds like your server was interrupted or corrupted. Sometimes, too much cache build-up in your regular browser can cause unexpected behavior in the product. With this, I'd recommend logging your account through incognito. This way, we can check if it's a browser-related issue. Refer to the keyboard shortcuts below:
Once in, run a sample payroll and check if it's already calculated the net pay. If it's resolved, return to your regular browser and press the CTRL+ Shift and Delete keys on the keyboard to clear the cache.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Service Representative. They can review your account settings in a safe place and provide other troubleshooting steps. They can also send a ticket to our engineers for further review if needed.

This thread is always open if you have other questions about post-tax deductions or other payroll related. I'm always here to help. Keep safe.
Hi Michelle
Thanks for your response. I have tried logging in through incognito and have cleared the cache. Result is still the same - the deduction of 11% is calculated based on the gross pay.
I am waiting on a response from Quickbooks Support. I strongly suspect that it is only Payroll Advanced that has the option to base deductions on Net pay.
Hi Allison, that is correct only advanced payroll has the option to base deduction on net pay, you can't do this in standard payroll as this payroll goes off gross and not net.
Thanks for confirming, Ashleigh - will just have to do it manually.
