Hey there, Andy. I've got some information to share regarding the maximum period you can run back your payroll.
Being able to run your payroll retrospectively depends on your QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP) subscription. If you're using Advanced Payroll, you can run your payroll for the entire initial tax year only. On the other hand, if you happen to use aStandard Payroll, you have these two options:
- Before- If you choose this option, QuickBooks Online (QBO) will set up the current tax year.
- After - If you choose this option, QBO will set up the following tax year.
Please know that the date you pay your employees determines the tax period and tax year it falls into, even if the pay period is different.

You can call our support for QuickBooks Online (QBO) from Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and Saturday-Sunday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
