Can QBO calculate and track accrued leave for part time workers?

We have some part time workers that work a different number of hours each week. So we need to calculate how much leave they have accrued and ideally the associated pay. And then display this on payslips and / or the employee portal.

Hello Eddie-Paterson, you would have to set up a new leave category in advanced payroll for this.

We'll need to manually track the accrued leave for part-time workers and set up a new leave category for that specific employee (if you are using QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll). You can also create a separate paycheck template for the part-time workers so it won't affect other regular ones. Here's how to add accrued leave to a pay run (first unlock the pay run:(

 

  1. Go to Payroll, and choose the Pay runs tab.
  2. Choose the unfinalised pay run to open the pay run details.
  3. Select the employee.
  4. Tap Actions.
  5. Hit Accrue leave.
  6. Enter the number of Hours.
  7. Add notes as required.
  8. Press Save.
