Why are HMRC insisting that I have underpaid on employer NI contributions?
I have or at least thought I had ticked all the right boxes to claim employment allowance, the P32 report
shows the employment allowance as being deducted. Can anybody explain what I have done wrong,
its like sitting in a lonely cave in the dark trying to speak to somebody at HMRC
Hi Beet, thanks for joining the QuickBooks Community - we'd be happy to check this further for you. :)
Does the most recent EPS show as successfully submitted on your payroll tax dashboard? You can access this by clicking Taxes > Payroll tax. The EPS is a cumulative report and notifies HMRC that EA is being claimed.
Hi Georgia,
The only tax on my dashboard is for VAT....have looked at payroll but can't see anything "payroll tax"

Hello Beet, can you ring the support line on 0808 234 5337 and then you'll be able to set up a screenshare with the agent on the phone so they can have a look into this more for you as you should have a payroll taxes tab in the taxes section. The line is open mon to fri 8am to 7pm and is free from any UK landline or mobile.
Hello Community users, we just wanted to pop into this thread and update it with the resolution. In this case an EPS needed to be sent for HMRC to be notified. This resolved the issue with Employment allowance.
We've included a help article on how to submit an EPS in advanced payroll here and in the standard payroll here.
Any questions at all on this let us know, we'd be happy to help.
