Are you using the period 23 feb to 22 mar as your pay period and paying 31st march?

Welcome to QuickBooks Online, MrPlunk.
I'm here to share details about pay periods and pay schedules in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll. This way, you'll be able to interpret how the system calculates the wages of your employees and their pay schedule.
The pay date is determined by the time you set up your employee's pay schedule. If you select the last day of their first pay period as 22 March 2020, this means that your employees will be paid for the days worked between 23 February to 22 March.
In addition, you can adjust the pay period dates within a pay run. If you select the last day of their pay period as 26 April 2020, your employees will be paid for the days worked between 28 March to 26 April.
If you wish to adjust, here's how:
Moreover, you can capture the SSP by selecting the start and end date your employee was off sick. Here's how:
For SSP guidelines, you can refer to this article for the detailed information: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll. It also contains a video tutorial for further reference.
Furthermore, if you wish to manage your payroll settings, employees, and processing pay runs, you can refer ti this article: QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll Hub. It also contains related articles for your expenses, and timesheets and your employee's leave and statutory payments.
Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
Thankyou.
My plan for 2020/2021 , would be (as I would have done in desktop version) :
Period Start to Period End and Pay date
23rd March to 26th April and paydate 30th April
27th April to 24th May and paydate 29th May
25th May to 21st June and paydate 29th June
22nd June to 26th July and paydate 30th July
.........etc
Will the software allow this?
Thanks in advance for confirming either way.
Thanks for your prompt response, @MrPlunk.
Yes, you can set up multiple pay schedules. However, you can only automate one pay schedules for an employee by choosing one of these periods:
I've added an article for more details in Payroll Automation in QBO Advanced: QBO Advanced Payroll.
Also, to check for details like paying outside the pay period and edit your company pay schedule, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Online Standard Payroll Hub.
Please feel free to leave a message to this post if you need further assistance. I'm always here to guide you. Enjoy your day!
