We migrated from Paysuite to Advanced payroll in April and ran 1st payroll last week. We have had lots of complaints from staff about the new pay slips. They're dreadful.

Hello Michellebennett1,
Thank you for the information, we will pass this on to our development engineers for you.
Improvements really need to be made asap or we will be looking for a new payroll software provider. The most important issue is that it just isn't clear what are earnings and what are deductions. They all look the same. Every figure is listed in the same area and every figure is positive. It just doesn't make sense. The Net Pay figure doesn't stand out enough and is just hidden in the middle of the payslip. There are also lots of formatting issues which makes the pay slip look like it was designed by a young child. I'm struggling to understand why I haven't seen similar feedback from other customers on here? They are just so obviously unacceptable! Do other users think these payslips are ok?
As far as I can see there is only one other payslip template and that is Z Format, which isn't appropriate for our staff and frankly isn't much better anyway. I contacted Support to ask if we could export all the data to create our own payslips, but was told that wasn't an option. So we are stuck with these awful pay slips and very unhappy staff.
Hello, michellebennett1.
I'm an employee as well and I would agree that the data on a payslip would have to be clear and can be understood.
For now, we can use the basic customisation option available in Advanced Payroll. To access the settings page:
You can find more details here: Customise payslips in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll.
Other customers might've submitted a similar feedback before. That said, you can keep a look out for newsletters and update popups for changes in QuickBooks Online.

You're welcome to post again if you have other feedback or concerns.
Hi, thanks for your reply.
The issues with the design of the payslips is nothing to do with the customisation options. It's to do with the basic design which cannot be customised by users.
I've attached a full list of the issues we have with the web format advanced pay slip. Please send this onto the development team. These are bugs that require fixing, rather than enhancements.
Thanks
