I'm here to get the help you need in filing a CIS return, easttv.
Once your CIS information are entered correctly in your Account and settings, you should be able to file your CIS return to HMRC. However, since the CIS function isn't working properly on your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to investigate the cause of the issue. I suggest logging in to your account using incognito mode or a private window to check if the problem is related to the cache.
Here's how:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
- Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
- Control + Option + P (Safari).
Once logged in, try to file a CIS return to HMRC by following these steps:
- In the left menu, click Taxes and go to the CIS tab.
- Select the View return link under the Action column for the period you wish to submit to HMRC.
- Check that your details in the return are correct and complete, then read the declaration and tick the box to agree.
- Then Submit to HMRC.
- You'll be prompted to enter your Government Gateway user ID and password.
- Select Sign in and submit. QuickBooks will begin connecting to HMRC. This usually takes around 60 seconds, wait until you see a confirmation saying your return has been submitted.
- Once HMRC accepts your submission, close the message to return to your QuickBooks.
After that, you can now record CIS payments made to HMRC. If you encounter further issues, consider switching to a different browser such as Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari, as this may help resolve the problem temporarily.
If you need further assistance or have any other questions, please let me know. I'm always here to help, easttv.
