why has my HMRC payroll submission been rejected ?

Before we start, you can share with me here if this is your first time to submit your payroll to HMRC. This way, I can be able to provide the exact resolution to your concern.

Most first time submission will get rejected because your HMRC credentials is not yet activated to submit online.

We're unable to view your payroll account here in the Community. However, you can visit the Payroll Tax Centre to know the cause of your HMRC payroll submission rejection.

1. Go to the Taxes menu.
2. Select the Payroll Tax tab.
3. Choose the rejected payroll.
4. Select the Overview tab to show the detailed cause of the error.

Once done, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Support team to verify your RTI submission. Then, they can walked you through in submitting your payroll to HMRC successfully.
