We sent emails out in March to advise any users with Metro that we could not support them due to open banking regulations since the changes were announced we have been working with each bank to get the connections ready before the deadline there are some banks we can not currently support.

We have included a link in this thread which will be updated when we are able to support Metro bank again.

With the new open banking regulations, updating your banking connection is change based on the information shared by your bank.

Sorry, but the answer is not helpful. It doesn't seem I have done anything wrong, but METRO bank and QB has a critical technical issue for a long time. I would like to know if anyone with METRO bank and has the same issue. I am tired of disconnecting and reconnecting which I was forced to do for over 10times, I wasted my time far too much with QB. I am not happy

I looked into our records and I can't see any open investigations that is related to Metro Bank, tomkatamail.

 

I'd like to ask if there's a specific error or message in your Bank Feeds? We just want to make sure that we provide you the correct set of steps to address the issue.

 

In the meantime, I would recommend reaching out to our phone support. They'll take a closer look at this to determine what's causing the connection issue between QBO and Metro Bank. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Help menu and select Contact Us.
  2. Let them know that you're getting a connection issue between your bank and QBO, then click Let's talk.
  3. Click Start messaging under the Message an agent section.
  4. You can also click Get a callback if you want someone to call.

I have been begging for help for half a year keep calling to the customer service for over 30 times, but nobody seems to help me or try to figure out why. many customer service staff even tried to do remote sessions - many times, but none of those worked. I even tried to contact Metro bank and they looked into it but they said there was an issue on QB side. After countless attempt including Calling customer service, this forum was my last hope but. Do you say QB has no ability to make METRO Bank feed work as it should be? You sound like there is no hope between METRO bank and QB. So do you think I should leave?

We know how much time it can take when something isn't working the way it needs to, @tomkatamail.  

 

Let me lend a hand over this issue, I suggest we do web connect file, these are online banking transaction from your bank website. The files can be downloaded and saved on your computer. Afterward, you can import the transactions so they become available in your bank Feeds. 

 

You can check this article for steps and details about Import Transaction from a CSV file:Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files

 

Once, import is finished, you are routed to the Banking window where your imported transactions are show on the For Review tab. You can review, add, or match each transaction.

It seems like you are not taking a customer's struggle seriously at all.

Your answer is completely out of context.

 

I do know how to do manually, and I was not asking how to connect bank or how to do it manually.

The reason why I am using QB is that I thought I did not have to do it manually.

 

You are now refusing to look into the issue, but asking me to work harder by working on QB manually?

I don’t think you are helpful at all.

 

I am asking someone to look into the issue of METRO bank and QB,

I am not asking how to force myself to work for QB while I am paying a fee to use it.

 

If you keep avoiding t help this issue then,

It is now getting a serious complaint.

 

Please answer accordingly. Much appreciated.

The information provided by my colleague is a workaround to upload bank transactions into QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

I've researched and looked into this further for related investigations, but there aren't any. In this case, I'd recommend reaching out to the Metro Bank's Support Team. They have the tools to further investigate why you're unable to connect your bank account with QBO.

As I said, I have already reached out Metro bank and they said (dod you read all the conversation? I bet you didn't) , there was no issue on their side, but there is an issue in QB side. And you are saying this is METRO bank side - Typical. 

I am a paid customer for QB, and I have been asking for help for nearly half a year. Nobody has looked into it but saying just like you, "Not our fault. " If the customer service is real people. I would like you to prove you care. I attached all the error messages - This is a real issue.  Please do not blame others and first please do look into your technical error and bugs, I know you are not Tech specialist, if so. Please do not pretend, and please do ask for tech team at QB, I don't need to hear from you but someone more knowledgeable. 

I look forward to hearing from someone else who can answer appropriately. Please do not waste my time.

Metrobank does not seem to connect at all to QBO now.

Hi there, CultivateG.

 

Metro Bank is one of the banks that does not have open banking solution readily available. This is the reason why its no longer available in compliance with Open Banking regulations.   

 

We are working closely with banks and other financial institutions to provide Open Banking connections for as many banking products as possible and open banking compliant bank feed.

 

In the meantime, you can import your banking transactions as a .csv file. Follow the steps in this article on how you can do it: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Below is I received from METRO bank tech team.

“We are, as a bank, seeking new forms of integration with QuickBooks, and a few other account softwares, which will work with APIs . These are being worked on by the appropriate parties. Until that has been released all we can advise is if the third party [QB] chooses to use our newly released MCI (Modified Customer Interface), customers will be able to use their services as normal. If they [QB] choose not to integrate then the service will be impacted. Currently, however, we aren’t able to provide a list of third parties who are currently using our MCI solution.”

I am extremely stressed by having now had to update manually (especially during this such a difficult time!)
QB doesn't seem to solve this issue at all, and expecting METRO bank customers to work on it by manual CSV upload.
Since they are blaming Bank not their system, it might be hopeless to wait, unfortunately, I have already spent 2 weeks speaking to QB customer service and none of them seems to bring this issue up instead focusing us to do the manual CSV upload.

 

Is QB willing to look into this issue or wait for METRO bank customers to leave you? or are you expecting us to update manually with CSV forever?

Hi - our Metro Bank feeds have no also completely stopped. I was completely unaware of Open Banking and received no notice. How long are we going to have to do manual bank feeds for? I can't believe that nobody notified us that we were about to lose bank feeds altogether.

Hi Emma. 

 

I have searched my inbox and can confirm that we did not receive these emails. As our subscription is through our accountant, I can only assume that Quickbooks only sent these emails to the account administrators rather than individual users.

 

Thanks for the link. I appreciate you might not have this info, but I was wondering if you could give any indication as to the timelines for this. The link only says 'in the coming months'. Seeing as we are mid-crisis and everybody is stretched, I'm concerned that our day to day business will be affected by this for a prolonged period of time.

These are difficult times and we want to be upfront with you that we do not have an exact date. We can advise that all our UK bank engineers are working still at this time so there will be no delay due to the current situation Globally.

While it is time-consuming to upload a CSV from your bank for the moment and hopefully not for too long this will be the option to pull transactions into QuickBooks

Well they were pretty efficient at turning off the feeds that were working perfectly well before, weren't they Emma!

What is the issue you are having with the metro bank? Metro bank is now on open banking when you try to connect the bank account do you get any error messages or codes?

Your Metro Bank (UK) -  data feed isn't ready for Open Banking yet. In the meantime, you can keep your data updated via a bank file (111).
