I'm using QB Self Employed and I'm in the UK so the default email message sounds too American and not something I would say as a British person. I need to change it, but doing it every time for every invoice is a real waste of time. How can this be permanently changed in QBSE???

Hello there, Joelashton14.
I can see the importance of changing the email message to the invoice. We can manually change it every time you send an invoice to your customer. I see you'll be putting effort and time to make it, but this helps us change the default one.
We don't have a specific time when this feature will be available. For the time being, I recommend checking this link to learn more about our product enhancements: UK Blog. Lastly, you can check the articles below for additional information about managing invoices and categorising transactions in QBSE:
Comment below if you need anything else. Stay safe.
Greetings, TeddyCox.
Thanks for being part of the QuickBooks family. Allow me to share some information about changing the default email message.
You’re right! You’ll have to manually change the email message when sending invoices to your customers.
Every enhancement we develop comes from our customers’ voice. We take this as an opportunity for us to improve on how the program works.
I don't want to leave you empty-handed, so I'm adding a link where you can check the latest news about the product. The QBO Blog site is a place where you’ll also get some tips on how to manage the business efficiently.
This information should help you moving forward.
If you have additional questions about QBSE, post a reply below. I'm here to answer them. Have a good one.
I would like this feature to please -surely it can't be that difficult to add?

I don't really want to subscribe to the newsletter and have more spam in my inbox. I just wish to be able to change the template over.
It's quite annoying and is not consistent across platforms either.

Hello richardwaithe,
Thank you for giving us feedback about the default email message to customers in QuickBooks Self-Employed. I'll definitely pass along this to our engineers.
If you have more questions, please let us know. We'll be glad to help.
I would also like to have this feature
Here is how you do this: Go to "Edit", then "Preferences", then "Send Forms", then "Company Preferences" tab, then "Add Template". Create New Template and set as default.
I really need this to, this is key functionality and something that is making me rethink if I should continue to use QBSE. The whole invoicing section is an absolute lockdown of flexibility and very difficult to get any automation from when sending 100+ invoices a month.
Not impressed!
I understand how this feature could benefit you, @David Press.
I'll submit this feature request on your behalf to our product engineers so they'll consider adding this in the future.
You can also check our QuickBooks Blog page to learn what's new and latest releases in QuickBooks.
Please don't hesitate to get back to us if you have other concerns. We'll be here to help.
The discussion on this is nearly a year old. Promises to effect a change don't appear to have been kept. The text is simply totally unsuited to British business.
Really? One year and four months later and still no change? Came here for a solution but all I see is other frustrated users and generic copy-and-paste replies.
I understand QBSE is the cheapest plan but this lack of simple functionality is making me reconsider my subscription.
I'd like my own default wording within the email sent with the invoice. I'm sure this used to be a feature some time ago, but now doesn't appear to be an option now. Quickbooks is meant to be something people can use on the go, so would be useful to add this feature of being able to set and save our own default message.
Another feature I seem to have missing that was useful, was the option to enter customer contact details from my contacts list on my phone, I now have to spend time manually entering the details.
Both features used to be there and would be really great to have back and less time consuming.
I would also like the change the default message to clients (when sending an invoice). Starting of with "Hey" is not something I am keen on.
@JasroV Im not sure if I have tagged QB correctly, but if I have - Please can you look into this issue that MANY other are having across the UK.

This does not work on self-employed as no edit button
Wow, this is disappointing. Surely there are developers working for QB that could implement this very simply in a matter of hours. Why has this not been done, so simple and would certainly improve the user experience a lot!? Typical big lazy company maybe?
Please can you add this feature asap. The default message is far too casual and personal and, frankly, a little unprofessional to send to business clients
Hi there, Pwoolly.
I understand the urgency of having this feature added asap. We'll wait for the update from our Product Team. For now, you can manually edit the default message before sending it to your customer.

This thread has been ongoing for three years....how has this feature still not been added?
Hello TeacherJ, Thanks for posting on this thread this is still not possible as qbse doesn’t have a profile for customers like out qbo accounts. You will have to enter the email address manually each time still.
