Converting Desktop UK to Online Multi-Currency

I am in need of switching from QuickBooks Desktop UK to an Online version.

I was told that QuickBooks Desktop UK is not compatible with QuickBooks Online US.

Now that the US version offers Multi-currency we would (in theory) be able to use Online US.

Online UK requires a UK address (that we don't have).

Has anyone tried converting their Desktop UK version to the Online US version?

Is this possible? We need multi-currency, we would like to be able to process payroll in USD or our Local currencies (Online UK only offers Payroll in GBP currency) although payroll is not a need, it's a want.

We would like to have a support team that is accessible during US working hours (UK is 6+ hours earlier).

Does anyone have advice?

Converting Desktop UK to Online Multi-Currency

I'd be glad to help share information about migrating from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO, @AccountantUSvsUK.

At this time, the feature to migrate your QBDT UK to QBO US is unavailable. You can only migrate from QBDT UK to QBO UK.

If you like to use the multicurrency feature in QBO US, I suggest creating an account by going to this link: quickbooks.intuit.com/pricing/. Once done, manually add your transactions to the newly created account.

Also, please take note that the multicurrency feature is only available in QBO Essentials, Plus, and Advanced.

To turn on this feature:

  1. Go to the Gear icon (:gear:) and select Account and Settings.
  2. Click on the Advanced and choose Edit (✎) in the Currency section and choose your Home Currency.
  3. Select the Multicurrency checkbox and confirm that you understand that you can't undo this option.
  4. Hit on Save and close once you're done.

Open a QBO US version account

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/US

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo

then you may have 2 options:

1. Utilize a migration tool. i.e TPExporter for Desktop and TPImporter for Online

https://transactionpro.grsm.io/qbo

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.
