Estimate/Invoice text moved

In the Invoice and Estimate etc printouts, the text for the sub-table showing VAT, Total etc has moved all the way to the left, it used to be aligned sensibly to the right (next to the numbers).  In the template editor, it still shows correctly on the right...

You may be using a different template for your invoice or estimate, Klous. To align all the text to the right when printing, you can switch to a different template, excluding the Airy New template.

Here's how to switch your template:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom form styles.
  2. Locate the template you usually use and click Edit.
  3. In the Design section, click Change template.
  4. Select any template except Airy New to match your preferences.
  5. Once done, click Done.

For detailed steps in customising your sales forms, refer to this article.

Additionally, you can run a Customer Balance Details  report to view comprehensive information on your customers' unpaid invoices in QBO.

Following these steps should help you achieve your preferred layout, Klous. If you have any further questions about managing your invoices or estimates, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to assist you.

The point is the actual invoice does not match the Template layout and the text is misaligned as per the screenshots.

...and it used to match correctly, so something has changed.

I appreciate you coming back to this thread, Klous. The issue with the alignment is due to the need to select the Preview PDF button to see the actual format of the template design.

Here's a sample screenshot for reference:

As suggested by my colleague, we recommend exploring other template options besides the Airy New to achieve a more cohesive layout, as the SubTotal section in the Airy New template appears in the left corner of the form.

To switch templates, please follow the steps provided earlier, and don't forget to click Done once you've selected your preferred format.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Phone support. Our team has the resources to look into any underlying problems causing the alignment to appear differently in your invoice template.

Thanks for the reply.  Sorry, but I don't agree, I don't think it "due to the need" to click anything, it is due to the PDF not being correct.

The PDF used to match the Preview accordingly (perhaps up until one week ago).  I have some old PDFs here that show with it aligned right, so something has changed.

Perhaps you can do the right thing and investigate the incorrect PDF and put it back to how it was.

The other templates are unfortunately less attractive!
