Its been awful the past month, I wish they'd stop with the updates and changes and just focus on performance.
Hi I am having the same issues. Quickbook opens fine, but then runs really. Tool me 30 mins to produce 1 invoice. This been like this for approx 2 weeks
My surface is now in the computer shop as I thought there was an issue with it. The shops that I have 8gb ram, i5, 8th gen. Which meets your recommended speck
I have used quickbooks for approx 3 years no issues.
This needs to be resolved ASAP.
And if there is an issue your end. Then professionalism should be applied. As this is affecting businesses.
And we should be updated with the most urgency. As I was going to get my laptop reinstalled at a cost. When clearly from your last comment its Not the end user.
If I'm wrong then please let me know. Naomi
Hello Abbotrack, So the issue we had this morning self resolved, if you are still experiencing issues on chrome, we would recommend doing standard troubleshooting, and maybe even deleting and reinstalling chrome (making sure you have the most up-to-date version) you may need to update your chrome, glad to yeah it is working ok for you on other web browsers.
Same issues here. I have the issue with two companies, each running their own license of quickbooks online. The issue is on two PC's in two different locations on broadband from different providers. Click in a box and then wait around 20 seconds for quickbooks to recognise that I have clicked in a box. Currently the system is almost unusable. Had the issue for two weeks or so. I was hoping it was QBO having an off day but it seems much more serious than that.
.
Done all this already as explained in the first report of this.
i need to use chrome as using other browsers just for QB to function correctly is not ideal.
this is still not resolved and not a solution to the issue.
I too have noticed it began 2 weeks to a month ago. Another co-worker mentioned the lag as well recently which led me to google if anyone else was experiencing this issue. Seems to be across many users.
Hello, pccreceipts. We understand the importance of speedy QBO performance and I'm here to assist you in resolving the challenges you're experiencing.
When it comes to speed issues when working in the program, there are several things that you can look at to ensure you're getting the most out of your user experience.
This includes outdated plugins, overused resources, or internet connectivity problems.
I checked our records and I can't find any open alerts about this for now. Let me share these tips on how to improve the program's performance on your computer:
Additional details about this are discussed here: Why Is My QuickBooks Online Slow?
You can also refer to this link to receive real-time alerts and check the current status of online services for QuickBooks: QuickBooks Status Page.

Great ! The same generic 'the issue is at the users end' reply @jenop2 please read the full thread, then investigate the back end. This is a QBO issue that needs urgent investigation by yourselves. QBO is currently almost unusable
Hi as previously stated I took my laptop to the computer shop, as I thought it was my device. Chrome has been re installed, fire fox , Edge. Quickbooks still runs slow. I have has to pay £40.00 to have this done. So I'm sure it's not my device. Or everybody else who is experiencing this issue. My laptop has been checked and all your recommendations Do not work. This is really frustrating. I would appreciate idmf someone picks up the phone and talk me through the process to resolve this issue.!!!!
This is really frustrating and time consuming. With no resolution from yourselves.
Hello, @Naomi 1. Thank you for following the suggestions.
This isn't the kind of service we'd like you to experience in QuickBooks. I'd also feel the same if I were in your shoes right now.
Since QuickBooks is still running slowly on your computer, I suggest reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team. They can securely access your account and investigate why the program is running so slowly. Here's how to connect with them:
After that, check out our tips for improving performance. This will provide you with several things that you can look at to ensure you're getting the most out of your user experience: How to improve QuickBooks Online performance.

This seems to be a huge issue, just with quick books, why do you guys keep posting generic responses over and over. One more generic response and i'm going to move onto a new program for invoicing. Quick books has becomes a huge frustration ever since the new update earlier this summer, i still cant attach photos to my estimates via the app either!
We're having exactly the same - Quickbooks seem to want to make it a browser issue but we have tried different browsers (initially Edge, then when that slowed down, installed latest Chrome which was ok for a while now has slowed down too). Have rebooted everything. Still awful.
Quickbooks Help seem to be continually persisting with the copy-paste answer, and not actually reading the problems.
It is NOT an internet browser issue, or an issue with our hardware, or anything else - it's a Quickbooks Online software problem and it's driving us all mad.
Three weeks ago it was fine. Since then.... arrrrggghhhhhh
I should add that we are in Australia, so it's not just a UK issue.
We are in USA and have been experiencing the dramatic difference for the past few weeks. From tabbing over to uploading attachments, it is causing slower performance execution overall.
I have been having same issue (QB running extremely slowly for 3 weeks now). It take 20 seconds for example to drill through a transaction and then a further 20 seconds to close.
This is not an issue with my laptop.
Same problem. It's been about a month. It's so slow it takes 4-5 mintues to enter an invoice or a bill. Brand new computer. Great internet. Every other program runs faster than ever. QB is near useless. I can't do this much longer. Please fix or re-offer the desktop version.
I know this hasn't been an easy process for you,
Stomp Records. I understand how latency affects your navigation, and I want to make sure this gets resolved for you.
Since latencies in your company file persist, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools to review your account and further investigate the root cause of this issue. To do this:
Also, you may consider taking into account the information shared by my colleague, jenop2 above.
In case you want to track and manage customer-paid invoices, you can record their payments to link the transaction to the original invoice. This way, your accounts stay balanced and accurate.
I'll be more than willing to provide additional assistance to any queries you may have when performing QuickBooks-related tasks. Feel free to mention me on this thread, so I can get you covered. Keep safe!
I think it's fairly obvious the slowness is not down to individual customers' computer or internet set-up. If this many are having problems (and those of us that bother to post are probably less than 1% of those experiencing the issue) then it looks like it's a Quickbooks software problem. Dealing with each customer separately is NOT the answer.
Mine is STILL running slow. Has anyone else in this thread actually managed to get a resolution? If so, please share what you did as I'm losing faith in Quickbooks to do anything about this!
I thought mine had resolved this morning, wishful thinking. It's still the same as 3 weeks ago. Infuriating, we were thinking about migrating to QBs for payroll too, I won't bother now.
Exactly,
Nothing they had added with a "new version" or "enhanced view" has really been an upgrade. Everything worked great and now not so much. I feel like software engineers need to fill 40 hours a week so they keep fudging with the system without much thought on how it effects their customers / subscribers.
The SAME thing is happening to me! I thought I was going crazy. I cannot get anything done in QB.
Latency issues are indeed frustrating and can significantly impact productivity, @garyburger66.

Yes, I have tried all things recommended and it is still not working. Unfortunately, QuickBooks is not even working enough to get into the "Help" section for further help. This is something on QuickBooks end and from the sounds of it, it is affecting a LOT of customers. QuickBooks needs to get this resolved ASAP before they start missing out on business because if this continues, we will need to go elsewhere so we are able to effectively run business.
Thank you for trying all the steps mentioned on this thread, @garyburger66.
