I'll guide you to convert your file, msmith4,

In the conversion process, you can export your lists (Chart of Accounts, Items, Vendors, Customers, transactions) from Quicken to a CSV file. Then, you can import them to QuickBooks Online (QBO). After that, you can connect your bank account to download your transactions to the Banking section in QBO. Then, you'll want to categorize and add them to your bank register. This the ideal way.

From what I'm getting, you're still in the process of exporting your lists from Quicken to a CSV file. l would recommend checking this with Quicken's support, so they can help you through the process.

Here are the general steps to import lists.

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Import data under Tools.
  3. Choose what list are you importing.
  4. Click Browse to select the CSV file from Quicken.

Here are the articles with specific instructions to import each list:

For the Chart of Accounts, QBO has a default list. You can just import the ones you used in Quicken that are not in QBO yet.

On the other hand, other users use third-party apps to convert their data from Quicken to QBO. If you'd like to consider this option, you can visit the QuickBooks Apps page. Change the flag icon to the UK flag, and search for something like data importer, transaction importer, and the like.

Feel free to always go back to this thread if you have questions throughout the process until until we can successfully transfer your data.

@msmith4

As mentioned by JessT, export your data out to get CSV files. You may utilize the 3rd party tool to import your lists and transctions data in bulk.

Make sure you have open a QBO account, not QBSE account to proceed

Have you thought about extracting data automatically? Here is the easiest approach to do that since the data from it comes in a very convenient format: https://vidi-corp.com/connect-quickbooks-online-to-power-bi/
