Problem with Quickbooks Pro 2003

Hi !

I have a big problem and I don't know what I can do...

I just took over a business and the previous owner were using Quickbooks Pro 2003. Unfortunately the computer they left to me with the software and all the accounting broke. I remove the hard drive and all the QB files seems to be inside so I wonder how can I find back my accounting.

I tried to setup Quickbooks Pro 2003 on a new computer but it's apparently a US version and I cannot transfer the files. Im looking for a UK version but so far I didn't find any.

If someone can help me or offer me a solution...

Thank you very much

You have three options:

1. In term of cost, upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop 2020 US Pro edition. It offers one time license cost.

2. In term of feature, cross-upgrade to QuickBooks Desktop UK

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/uk/desktop/

3. In term of mobility for limited user, migrate to QuickBooks Online UK version

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/UK

Which option do you want to take? You also need to purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Hi ! Thanks for your reply ! What is a 3rd party conversion service ? About 1. Is it sure I can use my datas on this US Version? What's the cost ? 2. On the link I can see only montly prices ? there is not another way to get it ? 3. If I start with '' simple start '' can I change easily to "Essentials" I'm running a very small business in Tanzania so don't really know what is the best for me

I have to revise my advise if your company is not loceted in UK.

There are two options for your case:

1. Convert to QBO Global version for Tanzania

https://quickbooks.grsm.io/Tanzania

2. Upgrade to QBD 2020 US version - Pro edition with one time license cost

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/pro/

I noticed the conversion cost starts from $299 for 24 hours turnaround time. Should you need to proceed, send your email address in private message to let me forward it to the vendor.

Hi !

Thank for your reply...I still don't know what to do.

My accounting is in Dollars and in local currency. Should I consider to buy the ''essentials" one?

I don't want to buy something and finally cannot use it or cannot transfer my old datas...I will send my email in pm.

Thanks

Hi Florian92

If you could subscribe to the Essentials product and set your home currency in dollars and then set your customers suppliers up using the applicable currency. However if you are a UK company and are VAT registered you will not be able to submit the VAT to HMRC however it will account for VAT but in dollars.

You could take out a trial to establish if the product is suitable.

Hi Florian92

You are not able to PM us on this platform. You can PM  us on FaceBook or DM us on Twitter. If you would like to migrate from a 2003 desktop version you will have to upgrade the 2019/20 and then migrate your data to the online product.
