Hi. I uninstalled my Quickbooks Premier Accountant Ed. 2020 and re-installed on another computer. Unfortunately I lost my authentication key in the process. How do I retrieve it?
Hi there, Hattrick-Adv.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how to find authentication keys or product and license numbers in QuickBooks Desktop. Then, to ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further with this matter.
When finding important product information for QuickBooks Desktop and connected products, it is usually found when you open your company file by pressing the F2 key. Since you're still reinstalling the QBDT on another computer, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have the tools to check your account and provide you with detailed information about your product details like product name, product number, version, and license number.
You may click this article so you're able to see the information on how to reach our QBDT Support Team: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support.
Lastly, you can refer to this article to view different solutions on how to resolve issues in case you see registration error messages: Fix license, validation, and registration errors in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thanks Christine ...this is helpful; I have installed Quickbooks successfully! I keyed in my company info but when I submitted, I got the error message "Quickbooks Online Registration process did not finish ....". It may be my non-existence tech skills, but am I doing something wrong?
There are a few reasons why you encounter that error message, Hattrick-Adv. I'll provide them to you.
It may be the hard drive is corrupted. Or, you may be using program files that are damaged or corrupted.
You didn't do anything wrong, though. We'll go ahead and fix it.
You'll have to try to register again. If you still get the same message, click Skip online check and register by phone from the registration message.
If it didn't make any difference, I suggest reaching out to our customer care support. This way, an agent can help you install and register the software. Feel free to click the article ChristieAnn shared so you can get in touch with us.
You're welcome to post if you have other concerns. We're one post away. Take care!
