Reciepts uploaded as .pdf files do not display a thumbnail in Banking>Receipts but jpg files do. Is this intended behaviour? It would be really good to see a thumbnail of a pdf.
Top receipt is a pdf bottom one a jpg.

Hi PeterSM,
Thanks for your post - this is intended behaviour as the.JPEG is a picture format file whereas the PDF is a document format and can contain several pages. :)

- In this case, how does one zoom into the PDF receipt? Hovering over it shows the receipt but may be unreadable? How does one expand the view of the PDF receipt thumnail?
- How can one open or the PDF thumbnail of the receipt into another browser?
Hello, SunnyH.
You can expand the view by clicking the uploaded PDF receipt. This let's you zoom in on the file or download it for better viewing. This won't open the file in another tab or browser however. I'd be glad to show you the step-by-step instructions.
In the Receipts tab or page, find and click the uploaded PDF file. In the pop-up page, click the + or - icon to zoom in or out. You can also download the file by clicking the download icon. Here's a sample screenshot:

Thank you. Yes, when the review option is chosen one can expand the view.
1. The issue is that there is no option to expand the view she where there are duplicate receipts or help compare the duplicate receipts. Please let me know how one could expand the view for duplicate receipts.
2. When reviewing, one may find additional information to enter in the missing fields, however, QBO would not allow to save the record until all the fields are filled. Particularly, asking the expense category needs to be filled before saving. Ideally it should allow one to add any additional information possible rather than forcing all the fields to be filled.
3. The receipts load up very slowly on QBO so I tried using QBO Desktop. This has another issue though. The receipts box does not show up and when one hover over it opens the download box rather than displaying the actual receipts. I would appreciate assistance with this.
Best Regards
Hello there, SunnyH.
The Payee and Account/Category are fields that require details to be entered. You can add this needed information first so you'll be able to Save and close. Also, you can open two tabs and log in to QuickBooks Online to compare the duplicates while the option to compare them within the Banking page is unavailable.
If there is an unexpected behavior within the browser, you can try logging in to your QuickBooks Online account using a private browser and review the receipts from there. If you're able to manage them as expected, you can switch back to the main browser and clear the cache. Other browsers can also help you isolate unusual responses within our system.
