Hi, My company's financial year is from 06th Apr'23 to 05th Apr'24. But currently the settings are only allowing to mention the first month i.e April

So when I set from Apr, the reports I can download are from April to March. but I want to set a proper date of start and end. How should I do it?

Hi akountables-uk-g Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community. The reporting financial year dates are set to run from the first day of the month that has been entered in the first month of the financial year settings, it's not possible to alter this. It is possible to run reports for a shorter period as long as the start and end dates don't overlap the financial year. Therefore what you could do is run two reports that would cover the periods you require; using the custom date option, one report from the 06/04/2023 - 31/03/2024, run the second report from 01/04/2023 - 05/04/2023, export the reports and merge them together.

We've submitted your feedback to our developers and hopefully in the future they maybe able to implement a more robust reporting function that would enable customers to enter their own financial year dates.

Hi @akountables-uk-g

5th April is a quirk of British history.  Intuit/Quickbooks is American.

They modify certain things to allow us to muddle through ;) but don't hang your hat on any update allowing a free choice of year-end.  QB Desktop had the same problem (choice of month end only) & Intuit had the best part of 30 years to fix it if they'd wanted to.

@John C 's suggestion of separate/merged reports is the best/only option.
