How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hello Cecile, What in the report are you looking in particular to change? you can export the report to excel and add columns and calculations but at the moment there is not a feature to change it into a VAT 201. We welcome feedback from other users on this thread who may have customised a report to fit those specifics.

How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hi Emma

Thank you for your reply, I work with 30 companies, in SA. So this uk report throws me off, I believe that it was a set up mistake someone made 10 years ago. I have recently migrated this company to online, and this error has gone with it. Is there no way I can change it?

How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hello Cecile1, there is no way of being able to change  a vat 100 report to a vat 201 as they are to different products that do vat differently you would need an sa account in order to see vat 201 and not a uk account version.

How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hi there, SEBOPETJA SJ.

Can you tell us what version of QBO you're using? Do you have a UK version or QBO South Africa? We're asking these questions to make sure we're giving you the right steps and information to sort this out.

Please reply to us to share more details. We'll get back to you as soon as we have more information.

I appreciate the additional information you've added, @SEBOPETJA SJ.

Please know that all QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) UK versions including 2021, are already discontinued. All of its trial versions are unavailable as well. As an alternative, you can switch to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and choose South Africa as your country to generate a VAT 201 report. To find the option that suits you best, check out our Plans & Pricing website.

On the other hand, transferring QBDT data to other regions isn't supported within the program. If you want to transfer your data to QBO, I suggest looking for a third-party migration service provider.

Additionally, you may visit this article as your guide to learn some of the main features of QuickBooks Online: Get started with QuickBooks Online.

How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hi

I have QB2016 pro desktop and I would like to know how I can change from VAT100 to VAT201 please.

There will be a new VAT rate change on 1st May 2025. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to change to VAT201

Please help

How do I change a Vat 100(UK) report to a Vat 201 (SA) report?

Hi, @Chappies. Let me provide some insights about changing the VAT 100 report to a VAT 201.

Please be aware that all QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) UK versions, including QBDT Pro 2016, have been discontinued and are no longer available. That being said, we can't change a VAT 100 to a VAT 201 report in QBDT 2016. In your case, I suggest switching or subscribing to QuickBooks Online (QBO), like the Essentials, Plus, or Advanced South Africa versions. This way, you can generate a VAT 201 Calculation Report exclusive to South Africa.

For more information on the available options, please visit our Plans & Pricing website. I've added some screenshots for visual references:

In addition, please note that the program doesn't support moving UK QBDT data to QBO. If you want to transfer previous or this year's data to QBO, I recommend seeking a third-party migration service provider.

Furthermore, I've included some references that you can look up for setting up VAT, using VAT liability reports, and how to file them:

Please let us know if you have other queries or concerns about running or getting a VAT 201 report in QuickBooks. We're always here to assist you. Have a great day.
