Adding an accountant to QBSE UK

I'm struggling with QBSE.

I want to add my accountant, there are online instructions, but the menus do not match those in my application.

There's no option to add another user.

What's going on?

Hello Community Users, we just wanted to pop in and update this thread. It is the case that now all users, no matter how they pay for the subscription will have in the settings cog of QuickBooks Self Employed an option to add an accountant user. If you find for any reason you do not have that option, please reply here and we'll look into it ASAP. Thanks

Hello Bill

The option to invite an accountant is a new feature however it will not be available on some subscriptions for example if the subscription was taken out via I-tunes or Googleplay billing and therefore is not paid directly to Intuit.

Is this the case with your subscription?

I took my subscription directly with quickbooks directly, but due to problems with the account ended up re subscribing through Apple.

How can I update to the latest version?

Hi Bill

With you having an Apple subscription you will not be able to invite accountant. You could cancel the apple subscription, we could move you onto Intuit billing once it is cancelled, then you should have the option to invite the accountant.Let  us know if you do cancel it and we can put in a request to move the billing.

Can my data be ported between accounts? I've already had to re-enter the data once.

Hi, @billstrahan.

You can set a scheduled date to cancel your account using the Apple subscription and don't renew the account until the renewal date. Once the account is cancelled, log in through the web browser to resubscribe into the Intuit billing using the same account.

There isn't a need to import the data, once you'll resubscribe your account into the Intuit billing, the data will automatically be restored.

Hello Jordan Parker,

Have you differently put in the right email address in for your accountant?

Can you try clearing your cache and cookies then close browser down and relog into your account and then take out the email address and re-put it in and send it to see if that works and your accountant gets the invite.

Also, get your accountant to check in junk or spam just incase the invite has gone there instead of their inbox.

Let us know if after all that it is still not sending to your accountant.
