Thanks for joining in this conversation, @treyholland71. At the moment, the option to show the invoices and estimates on a single report is still unavailable.
As mentioned by my peer @RenjolynC on this thread, you can run the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer and the invoice list separately instead. Then, export these reports to Excel to edit the info manually.
I can resend this idea again to our developers so they may consider this functionality and add this in QuickBooks someday.
Let me know if you have more questions. We're always delighted to be of your service.
Hello Kristina83
Are you using QuickBooks Online? If so there is the option of the estimate and progress invoicing summary by customer report which will show accepted status you can also go to all sales and change the filter to estimates and status to accepted to pull through what has been accepted..Currently the status column is not on the sales or transactions reports for customer so that will only come through on an estimate report.
What information do you need on invoices is this just the ones that have been converted from estimates you need on the report as well as the estimate status?
Thanks Emma
Hi Emma, I can pull through accepted estimates and invoices seperatly on QB online but I was wondering if there was a way to put accepted estimates (that i havent yet invoiced) and invoices not paid (without previous estimates) together so I can see how much we have coming into the company. Estimates are accepted and will be invoiced, but havent been yet as theyre not due.
Hi Kristana83
There isn't currently a report that will accommodate your requirements.
Our products are evolving constantly and to assist us with your requirements, and hopefully get them implemented, we encourage you to leave feedback from within the product.
When can Quickbooks online customers expect this change to show accepted estimates and invoices in the same report?
It should also show the balance of the estimate remaining after it is invoiced.
Thanks,
RK
Hi RTK30
If you run a Estimates by Customer report select the small gear icon to the right of the print and export icon > show more > select invoice no. This will show the corresponding invoice number on the report.
Thank you.
I followed your instructions and the invoice does not show up. I am referring to the number.
I am also looking for the amount to be reflected, which should be as a minus to show the remaining balance outstanding against the estimate.
Please advise.
Thank you.
Hello, @RTK30.
Let's generate and customize your Transaction List by Donor so you'll be able to view your accepted estimates and invoices.
Here's how:

Thank you, I should have indicated that we use the QB online version and it appears that this is not available.
Please advise otherwise if this is the case.
Hello RTK30,
We're unable to show the invoices and estimates on a single report. Though, you can run the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer and the invoice list separately.
Then, export these reports to Excel, so you can manually edit the information.
I will forward your request to our Product Development Team for evaluation. We always have updates about our platform improvements, and this report might be included in the future.
If you have any other suggestions about QuickBooks Online, please let us know. Thanks.
Why cant you show this report???
It is pretty much there in the Estimates & Progress Invoicing Summary by Customer report there just needs to be a filter on the estimates column so we can turn off pending, closed and rejected estimates.
A report to show what estimates have been accepted, how much of these estimates have been invoiced and the balance of estimates to be invoiced in the future is essential to project cashflow and should be a basic management report.
Come on quickbooks; please sort this.
Also a single report to show estimates in four columns being accepted, pending rejected and closed with total balances is pretty fundamental.
Finally please show all reports net of VAT

John,
I know this is a very old thread, but this is exactly the report the we also need to run our business more effectively. When I run the Estimates by Customer Report, I am choosing the Invoice # column a you have indicated. However, the Invoice column is blank in our reports even though we have invoices linked to our estimates.
Can you offer any guidance here?

Hi, This is one of those reports I worked out by trial and error but I can tell you what I did and you can take that info away with you or work out a more simple way.
Unfortunately, there is no way to combine estimates and invoices into the same report (I've spent ages trying) so I have had to formulate two separate reports; one for estimates and one for invoices unpaid.
For invoices unpaid:
Clicked invoice list by date
Clicked customise tab
Made sure the transaction type had the invoice and payment selected
Then within that drop down menu within customise I selected A/R Paid and clicked the box Unpaid
That showed me a list of all of invoices that clients had not paid.
For the separate estimates report - under the filter tab- I just selected estimate status- accepted or pending.
Hope that helps.
Hi,
Same issue for me also i am not able to see the invoice number in estimates by customers reports, even though i created the invoice for the estimate and recorded the payment.
Please advice
Thanks in advance.
Hi VR7,
Thanks for joining us on this thread.
The invoice no. field on the Estimates by Customer reports is designed to only contain one invoice number, and so we've found this will not populate for users who have progress invoicing enabled (where you can create multiple partial invoices from a single estimate).
If you don't use progress invoicing, you can disable this feature so that the report will populate with the invoice no. To do this, go to the Cogwheel > Account & settings > Sales > Progress invoicing > Slide to off. Any invoices raised from estimates after this point will then display the number in the report.
Please get back to us below if you have any questions! :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Everytime I try and leave feedback in the product it crashes my browser. I am using the latest version of edge.
Hello Estherallpipe, thanks for commenting on this post, we don't really support edge so that could be way, could you try in google chrome instead.
Those filters are no longer available on QBO
I'd like to know how I can incorporate Approved Estimates in a Balance Sheet as an Account Receivable. Legitimately, it's money in the bank for a future date, but there seems to be no way to reflect it. Even changing the date of the Balance Sheet won't show it. Why not? I'm using Enterprise Desktop.
Thanks for joining us here today, @barbara6.
Let me share some information about estimates and the balance sheet report. Estimates are non-posting transactions and are used in accrual basis accounting to complete the financial statements.
While the balance sheet contains information on cash and accounts receivables, estimates aren't part of it.
Learn more about the different reports that cater to your business needs in this article: Understand reports.
I've also added this link here to guide you with customer transaction workflows: Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.
That'll do it. Please let me know if you have follow-up questions or concerns with estimates or reports. I'm more than happy to assist you. Take care and have a wonderful day ahead.
Hello
has this feature finally be added?
It's really too time-consuming to get a read on sales status if we have to look up invoices and estimates separately
Hello Vanessa37, thanks for posting on this thread, this feature has still not been added, leave it as feedback in the main cog wheel as all feedback requests go off demand.
