Hello,
I'm trying to produce a quick balance sheet, but stock assest are showing as zero values.
So i proceeded to run a report on stock value, and again the stock is showing as zero value.
Also products in QB have a cost price, quantities are spot on perfect, but for some reason, when the report is run all i get is zero.
Anyone know how to fix this issue.?
I have been using QB for a few weeks, so my level of experience right now is 2/3 out of 10.
Cheers
Hello, Pennine_Jim.
One possible reason why your Stock Asset is showing zero on the report is that your item is already out of stock. To check, click on the zero amount of the Stock Asset in your Balance Sheet. This will open the Transaction Report which will let you see the transactions that make your stock into zero.
Another possible reason is that your stock item was under a different Current Asset Account.
If you’ve already checked these scenarios but still can’t figure out, I’d recommend contacting the phone support team. They have tools like screen sharing which can help you investigate this further.

Hi MikiD
Thanks for your help.
No issue with stock quantitiy, quantities are showing and are correct.
I think it is your second point.
When i am in a product, under "Stock Asset Account", the only option listed is "Stock Asset". There is no inventory option, so i think i have to explore this in more detail without botching up.
I have recently taken on looking after our QB account due to circumstances within the business, and i think products were not set up correctly.
If you have any other advice for me on "Stock Assets" it would be most welcome.
Cheers
PJ
Hello MikiD,
I clicked HELP at the top, there is no CONTACT US option.
When i select CONTACT at the bottom of a page, i cannot see a CALLBACK option.
I have got nowhere with this issue, and QB is not a platform i want to perform trial and error test revisions on.
Any ideas please?
My stock is listed as STOCK ASSEST, there is no other option.
On balance sheet, or stock value report, stock is not showing to have any value.
If anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated. I have asked accounting peers for help, and so far they never used QB, and even warned me about using this platform.
Please help.
Hey Pennine_Jimm,
Is the 'Stock Asset' account that is showing under the Stock asset account in the products settings the same account you are referring to on your balance sheet?
If you run the Balance Sheet for 'All Dates' and Accounting method 'Accrual' does the account show a balance?
Please provide a screenshot of your P/S setting which shows the qty on hand and the stock account and the balance sheet report.
Alternately, you can request a callback or see our direct contact options on the link here, as it may be easier to setup a screen-share with one of our agents.
Thanks
