Why do my weekly reports which ran successfully for 3 years no longer contain data in every field?

We can perform some troubleshooting steps together to resolve your issue about running your weekly reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Cambridge99.

May I know what type of report are you trying to generate? This helps me better isolate the issue. In the meantime, we can log in to your account using an incognito browser. Private browser prevents saving cache and cookies that sometimes cause errors when running frequently visited websites. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox
  • Control + Option + P for Safari

Then, run the weekly reports again. If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. Switching to another compatible one to help rectify the issue.

To get the most out of QuickBooks for your business. You can check some articles that are designed to help you get acclimated with the program. They can be accessed at the following link: QuickBooks Tutorials.

Keep me posted if you have follow-up questions about managing your financial reports in QuickBooks. I'll be right here to provide the information you need.

The automated reports are not generated locally.  The standing request is for an Excel-Compatible report format which used to work perfectly well each week.   Lately however, the Club Officers who receive the reports weekly via our distribution list have received Excel Sheets which contain very many rows where the data in the 'Description' Field of the reports is missing.   None of the descriptions is blank (or too long for the field size) in the entries in Quick Books but the reports have not pulled in all the data or displayed it.

The missing data started a few months ago on occasional rows but this month most of the data is missing so the problem is now intolerable.   The automated reports are delivered in Excel format and are viewed using Excel not a browser. Your cache-emptying suggestion does not not help I'm afraid.

I use three different browsers (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox) depending on which machine I am using.

I do not want my data to be made public due to GDPR but I can provide the reports if you send me the right email address to use...
