Can't upload the full receipt from an image, quickbooks is cropping the image and missing the full receipt

We're glad to receive your first post in our Community space! Thank you for getting in touch with us. We understand how time-consuming it is to experience runtime issues about uploading receipts in QuickBooks Online.

 

If you are using the QuickBooks app to upload receipts from an image, let's try resetting the app data to clear the cache and restore it to its default state. Before doing so, make sure that both your QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app and your phone's operating system are up to date. This ensures the smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the application.

 

For iOS:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose Reset App Data.
  3. Select OK.

 

For Android:

 

  1. Proceed to the Home menu or tap the three dots in the right upper right corner.
  2. Select the Settings tab. 
  3. Choose the Refresh Data option.
  4. Pick Yes.

 

Afterward, upload your receipts again. Let's try uninstalling and reinstalling the app if it doesn't work. You can find more information through this article: How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

 

If the problem continues even after troubleshooting in your QBO app, please note that you can upload the receipt as an attachment from your device's camera reel or through the browser version of QuickBooks as a workaround.

 

However, if you are using QuickBooks Online, occasional browser issues can cause unexpected behavior. To address this, let's start by logging into your account and performing the activity in a private window. The keyboard shortcuts for different browsers are as follows:

 

Safari: Command + Shift + N
Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Sh

 

If it works in the private window, return to your regular browser and clear its history to start fresh. We also recommend using a different supported browser, as the version of QuickBooks you are currently using may have a temporary malfunction.

 

Moreover, QuickBooks supports various image formats, including PDF, JPEG, JPG, GIF, and PNG. If you have a newer iPhone or iPad, your images might be in the HEIC format. You can convert HEIC images to a compatible format.
