I have some bank transfers like sending money to someone for a second hand iPad which I don’t have the receipt for, or covering a payment that came out the wrong account, what can I do as a receipt?

I've got some ideas about handling receipts in QuickBooks Self-Employed, @chromacrystalinf.

First, you can issue a proof of purchase for those items (second-hand iPad). This will serve as your receipt.

Then, you can record them as purchases. Just ensure to categorize them correctly, and they're part of the business.

For the best guidance, I recommend working with your accountant. If you don't have one, you can use our Find-an-Accountant tool to look for a professional near you.

Here's how to record them in QuickBooks:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab, and then select Add transaction.
  2. Enter all the info needed, and then choose the right category.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Then, you can now add your receipts when you're ready.

If you have receipts on your mobile, you can send them to QuickBooks. This way, they'll be recorded automatically.

In case you want to keep a copy of your receipts, you can export them one at a time or in bulk.

Stay in touch with me if you more questions about managing your receipts. I'll be here to share a guide or two.
