Hello sales29,

The camera icon is also a feature on QuickBooks Online, and on the UK app. Are you on IOS or Android?

Thanks,

Talia

Hi sales29!

I'm glad you're interested in the Receipt Scanner feature.

When you create expenses, you click see a Camera icon to take pictures of your receipts or choose from your saved pictures.

Feel free to post again if you have questions.

Hi Thanks.

Is the camera icon also available in Quickbooks online? In the advert it shows Quickbooks Self-Employed. I ask because I’m not able to see the camera icon.

Also we use the UK version of the app, can I assume it has the same features?

Thanks,

Hi, I tried photographing front and back of post office receipt but Quickbooks scans and processes these as two separate receipts. Please help me photo front and back to create 1 single receipt.

Many thanks,

Justin

Hello Justin,

The workaround would be to use the receipt forwarding feature instead. You can do this by going to the cog wheel and 'receipt forwarding'. This way, you can combine the front and back receipt into one file and forward this to email address to create as one transaction.

Thanks,

Talia

Hi Talia, thanks for fast response - I attached front and back photos to an email and used receipt forwarding as you explained, but it only included the back photo in the final receipt. I also had to add the data manually because the vendor and date were on the front photo, which was missing. I think I will have to find another receipts app - thank you anyway.

Having read your reply again, you said I will need to combine the two images before sending them over. However if I combine the images myself then I can simply upload them to Quickbooks via the app as normal!

For those wanting to do the same - e.g. combine front and back of post office receipt (or other) into one image - try an Android app called Blend Collage. Very simple to use, and once you've combined the two images you can upload via Quickbooks app as normal.

But how about South Africa subscribers?

Hello Buck Tsai, The South Africa product does not yet have the receipt scan option it has just recently been added to the UK version. We'd advise if you can leave feedback in the QuickBooks in the cog in the top right.:smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes: There may be a 3rd party app you can use to fulfill that function.

lets get this as an upgrade to snap as soon as possible...we have moved from Receipt Bank and we miss the ability to snap 2 pics together....ie for an over page receipt or a very long one from the supermarkets.  Thanks
