When you create an invoice, QuickBooks won't usually ask for payment method.
For me to provide the accurate resolution, can you share a screenshot of the error message? I want to gather more details about this.

This is happening for me also. Accounting software that doesn't let you create invoices is pointless.
And just after I posted this, the "Accept Card Payments" option is back (this was missing before), and I can save invoices again.

We've since had multiple reports from other users of QuickBooks Online with the same error message. While the error itself appears to self-resolve for most, our team are looking into the cause to ensure it does not continue. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to you today.
This affected me yesterday morning so I called support, but shortly after my colleague and I could raise invoices successfully.
Sadly it's not working again this morning with the same error, and you can see lot's of reports of this issue in this forum.
The fact that every support reply has been check your browser etc. isn't helpful as you can easily see this is a widespread issue.
If we can't raise invoices we can't work - to have this happening for two days is unacceptable.

2025 and still this issue remains. Zero help from QB and yet another month without invoice creation ability yet I still have to pay for this junk.

This doesn’t work in any browser. Your tech support remotes on to my computer and saw the problem. They said it’s a know problem and with the engineers but no date for a solution.
That reply is completely unacceptable for a business.
