Hi Steve, thanks for joining this thread.
Currently, there's no way to change the default setting to off(removing the app is the only way but yes it takes the option off completely) and this would need to be manually unchecked on the invoice each time before sending - we agree this would be a handy option to have and we'd be grateful if you could submit a feedback request by going to the Cog > Feedback within your account, this way your comments will be submitted directly to our developers who're able to review and implement such changes. :)
Hello Matthew Leeden,
We can turn off the online payments option through the Custom Form Styles. Here's how to do it:
You can also set Preferred payment method for that customer.
If you have additional queries about this, please let us know.
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me. These are set as you described, and the accept payments via paypal is still ticked when I create a new invoice. I have also disconnected my PayPal account from Quickbooks, so all I have now is my bank account transactions being fed into Quickbooks, and it's still ticked by default.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Matthew
Hello Matthew,
Can you go into my apps and go into paypal and remove the accept payments from paypal in there this should stop the default. Let us know how you get on.
I would if I have access - when I try to access the Apps from QB, I get a "We're sorry, you doin't have access to view this page" message.
When I go into my profile, in the Apps section I can see that I don't have any authorised applications.
Thanks,
Matthew
I appreciate for keeping us updated, Matthew.
The message that prompted indicates that we are restricted to access the page. We can let your Master Admin to disconnect the PayPal account still on the Apps page.
After it has been removed, let's access QuickBooks again to see if the online payment option is already unchecked. If not, we can verify if it's a browser-related issue by logging into QuickBooks through a private browser. Here's how to open one using some keyboard shortcuts:
If everything works fine after using the private browser, we can go back to the regular one to clear its cache that can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks. We can also use other supported browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox.
Feel free to get back to me if you need anything else. Thanks!
Hi QB
I have the same issue and need to turn off the 'accept payments online' feature.
When I go in to the invoice template, there is no 'payments' tab as described in the help section.
How do I remove this function so that it does not appear on my sales invoices?
Kind Regards
Chris
Hi Chris,
Thanks for joining this thread, the 'payments' tab has been removed in a recent update and no longer appears within the Custom Form Style templates.
Can you check if you have the PayPal app connected by going to Apps > My apps from the left-navigation menu, and then disconnect this from here? 🧐
Hi,
Thanks for the feedback on this so far - I need to check with my Admin, who happens to be my accountant, to see if they can let me know if PayPal is still connected to my account via the Apps.
Matt
Hi Guys,
I'm having the same issue. I want to turn the automatic tick of "Accept card payments with PayPal". I may have 1 of 50 or 100 clients who need to pay via card. So unticking every invoice is annoying, also if i forget then a client may pay via that method and I don't want them to.
Can QBO please in the back end create a button in settings or somewhere to have this automatically turned off or on.
Kind regards,
Dale
As a side note to add on here, I don't want to have to remove my paypal account from that accept payment feature then re-add it every time I have a client that needs that pay via that method. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks,
Dale
I'll share a few details, Dale.
We're unable to turn off the feature automatically. You'll have to log in to your Paypal app and disconnect it manually.
If you wish not to use Paypal for your client, you'll have to uncheck the Online payment option in the invoice.
Let us know if you have other questions. You can always get back to this thread. Keep safe!
I'm having the same issue, forgot to turn it off one time and the customer paid using this method which cost me £10 in Paypal fees. I also don't want to disconnect Paypal as I have some occasional Paypal payments from my website that need to be recorded.
This should be turned off by default with the option to turn it on if required.
