How do you convert an estimate to a customer project - I have sent an initial estimate which has been accepted, however I want to know track this as a project

I have seen a video where you go to the estimate select the customer dropdown box and your customer should now have a project title under their name but nothing appears on mine.

Hi there,

I'm here to guide you through the process of linking an existing estimate to a project in QuickBooks Online.

To get started, you'll need to manually create a new project. Here's a detailed step-by-step guide:

  1. On the left navigation panel, click Projects.
  2. Click New project.
  3. In the Project name field, enter the project name.
  4. Choose a customer from the Customer dropdown.
  5. Enter a Start date and End date for the project.
  6. Select a project status from the Project Status dropdown. You can also add more project info in the Notes field.
  7. Hit Save.

With the project created, you can now link the existing estimate to it. To do this:

  1. Open your estimate.
  2. Pick the newly created project from the Customer dropdown. You will see the project under the customer it was associated with.

For more information on setting up and managing projects, you can check out this article: Create and manage projects. It also covers everything you need to know about tracking projects in QuickBooks Online.

Hi,

That's great thank you... please note I didn't realise that you had to delete and re enter the customer details in the  (dropdown box ) for this to show.... obviously the customer details is already highlighted in the dropdown box and clicking on it doesn't show the projects - so deleting name and re typing is the way to do it.

Well done  to us !
