Seems I was doing it wrong as the reconciling has worked now.
Many thanks for your support
Hi Hailey 123, thanks for joining the QB Community - it's not possible to migrate data directly between two QuickBooks Online accounts; you can use the import and export tools (located under the company cog) to move certain data, however, you would need to re-format this before importing. We recommend downloading the sample file showing under the import tools to map the data into for ease. :woman_technologist:
Utilize one of these migration tools

Thanks for getting back to me. I am working on Quickbooks desktop; I have two identical quickbooks accounts and want to know if I can copy over the transactions from the last 6 months to the other account. I want to do this since it seems there is an error when I reconcile each month so I thought if I would copy it over to the same setup I would be able to locate what the issue may be. I tried importing the data using the import tool but I was unable to. Are you able to help me further with this?

You have exported the transactions from the first QB Desktop file, correct?
What kind of error message did you encounter when try importing it to the second QB Desktop file?
Hello Hailey 123. thanks for coming back to us, it's not possible to import in transactions into Desktop, you may be best off undoing the reconciliations on the current file and re-reconciling.
Thanks for getting back to me. I have undone the reconciliation and now I am reconciling again. The two balances match however there is a discrepancy when I reconcile. Are there any tips on how to solve this? I haven't changed anything from the original reconciliation so there shouldn't be any issues and I am not sure what is wrong. Could you provide me different methods so that I can check this out in more depth?
Thanks for your continued support with this issue.
Hello Hailey 123 it is no problem at all there, what we are here for, so it is just a case of going through each transaction in your QuickBooks desktop and on your bank statement and making sure they are all marked off correctly. The chances are there's a duplicate transaction that cant be reconciled and would in theory shouldn’t be there. So by deleting it and things should all then match up correctly for you. Or there may be a transaction that shouldn’t be there that isn't. Just have and pay close attention to both your bank statement and QuickBooks transactions and I'm sure you'll see what the issue is.
I have gone through the statement numerous times and found a few mistakes. I have corrected them but their still seems to be a mistake. The end balance matches the bank statement which means that the transactions are all recorded correctly. Would you know any other ways of checking what seems to be the issue here?
Many thanks
Hailey
Hello Hailey 123, you are probably best off calling the desktop support line on 0808 168 9535. They'll be able to take a look at it more for you as you'll be able to set up a screen share with the agent on the phone with you not getting anywhere, something will be missing or a duplicate might still be there but like I say the agent on the phone will be able to take a closer look at it for you.
Seems I was doing it wrong as the reconciling has worked now.
Many thanks for your support
Thanks for getting back to us, Hailey 123.
I'm happy to know that you already figured this out and you're able to process reconciliation in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
