You will not need to close the account and start from scratch but we will need to check a few details to get the VAT back on track.
On your Taxes screen, have you marked a period as filed prior to your open return dating April - June?
If you have marked a period as filed and have not submitted any subsequent returns to HMRC we can re-open this to allow you to re-mark the period as filed with the correct transactions which will remove the exceptions on your open return.

Have you submitted the Jan-March to HMRC via QuickBooks or just marked it as filed?

In order to do the unfiling request we need some information from the QuickBooks such as your email, amount in that quarter that was filed,period dates,exceptions in that quarter and the current quarter.
As the Community page is a public forum it will redact the information if you add the email on this post. We can usually find the email that your profile on the Community is linked to however it is not coming up in our searches.
If possible can you private message QuickBooks UK on FaceBook or Twitter so we can get the unfiling process completed for you

I have received your private message in the Community, currently I can not reply privately. We have managed to find the account based on the information that you provided. We can see a case opened yesterday for a VAT unfile request which is currently being looked at by our senior support. We will email you from the case as soon as this is completed
