Connecting you to HMRC is my top priority, so you're able to send VAT forms before the deadline.
Sometimes, a browser full of cache and temp files can prevent you connect an account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). With this, let's do fundamental troubleshooting steps to get cleanse of the problem. To start, log in to your account via incognito. These kinds of browsers won't save browsing history.
Use these shortcut keys below:
From there, connect your HMRC again to verify if it's already functioning well. But before doing that, make sure to remove the QBO authorised access in the GOV. UK website, as my colleague mentioned above. You may use your government gateway credentials that you use to log in for VAT.
Once done, proceed in reconnecting the account. For more information, check out this article: Authorize QuickBooks to interact with HMRC - MTD for small businesses.
If it works, please go back to your normal browse and initiate to clear the cache and cookies to resolve unexpected behaviors. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser as alternatives.
Also, you can always access any tax report, then customise it to show specific details.

It's recommended to disconnect from HMRC in QuickBooks and then click the link to manage or remove the software application permissions linked to your Government Gateway account.
Once done, set up the HMRC connection settings again on QuickBooks, grant permissions on HMRC Gateway Account, and then submit the return. You can use this article as a reference: Everything you need to know about Making Tax Digital (MTD).

did you get this sorted as i am still unable to connect and not sure anyone at QB is doing anything about it!
