Record VAT payment - error message

Hi all,

I have just submitted a VAT return. I'm given the option to 'record payment' but I get this error message 'could not determine node type'. Can anyone explain this please? And how do I record the payment in this instance.

This is not a message we have come across before can we ask you what browser you are using? Could we ask you to load up QuickBooks Online in another browser and if you do get the same message could you reply back with a screen shot of the error message and we will investigate into this for you

I have now been able to record the VAT payment, I guess it was a glitch somewhere.

I have same message.  Clearly a bug.  I got it clicking on "Record refund" link.

It may be a browser elated issue, what browser are you using? We recommend that you clear the cache and cookies on your browser or us an incognito/private window.

It may also that you have the close the books option activated within the settings; select the cog/gear icon in the top right hand corner of the screen > account and settings > Accounting > select Close the books > de-activate/un-tick the close the books option.

I Am also receiving this node error when using the windows desktop app v4.2.1, but was able to record the payment when using Microsoft Edge browser.

I just got this error trying to view a submitted VAT return. (Mac, Chrome)

Hello Tomtids, Can you try clearing your cache and cookies, this link will help, close the browser down, reload it, log into your account and try again see if it allows you to do it this time or if you still get an error and let us know.
