Hi suzie-heartwood- The email address that confirms a VAT filing originates from your HMRC account.
Hi, where in the hmrc account do I find the place to change where the Quickbooks vat acceptance email comes from? Thanks
QuickBooks Online uses the contact information that's saved in your HRMC account for sending email confirmation, Suzie.
You can go to this link to get more details about making changes to your business details in your HMRC account: Tell HMRC About A Change To Your Business.
I'd also recommend reaching out to them just in case you're unable to find the option to make the changes. Let me share this link with you: https://www.gov.uk/contact-hmrc.

Hi, thanks for your response, I have checked the details in the online account. I am filing as an agent. It’s the email back from QB saying the submission has been filed with a submission was accepted. Perhaps it’s linked to the master user on the QB practice account?
Hello there, Suzie.
The email address where you received a confirmation email that your VAT filing submission was accepted was based on the login credentials set up when you authorise QuickBooks Online to interact with HMRC.
If you need to change your email address, I recommend contacting HMRC. They can assist you with the process to ensure your business details are up to date, preventing any future authentication issues.

Hi, no I don't think that's it. My log in to QB is with a new email address, the connection in QB to HMRC MTD to be able to file the VAT returns is not my email its a user ID and password to the HMRC MTD Agent services account, my email isn't linked to the agent services account.
I have spot checked a few of the clients information from within their specific business tax accounts and that's all with their details not mine, and I am filing under an agent connection anyway not their business tax account credentials.
It has to be a setting within QB.
Hi suzie-heartwood- The email address that the VAT filing/submission confirmation is sent to is the contact email address on the HMRC account.
I have checked the contact email on the agent services account and its not me and nor has my email ever been in the agent services account. Neither is it the email on the clients business tax account as I can see their email not mine.
