Hi - The Snap Receipt function seems to have been removed from the Quickbooks Online App. How do I get it back?
Thanks
Hi JamieLeSueur, thanks for joining this thread - are you using the iOS or Android version of the app?
Hi Georgia
im using the IOS version of the app
Thanks JamieLeSueur, the snap receipt icon should should for you on the app homepage beneath 'quick actions' - are you able to see this?
Thanks JamieLeSueur, that's unusual - please try uninstalling and reinstalling the app - if the option still does not appear, please reply with the version that you're using (you can check this by viewing the app details in the app store)
Did anyone get this sorted out, I have the Receipt snap option on my app but my partner does not?
Hello Jderouen1, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if the option then appears for you or not? Can you let us know what version you are using and is it an ios or android device you have?
Hi...I have the same issue. I've reinstalled the app several times, but there is no 'Snap Receipt' option...just an 'Expenses' icon.
Hello Nlequez, thanks for posting on this thread have you followed these steps and is it still not showing you the option? The latest updates with QuickBooks Online (QBO) mobile app are now accessible from the menus. A snap of your receipts is just a few clicks. Let me show you how.

Hi Ashleigh,
As reported by others, the app is not displaying any Snap Receipt option. I'm on iOS 15.7, and have reinstalled the app several times.

Any update on this? My partner is still not seeing this option on his mobile app
I'm here to ensure that the Receipt Snap feature works without issues, JVF9.
I've checked with my tools and found some investigations about snap receipt icon not showing. However, most of them have already been resolved, and no related issues same as you've encountered.
However, I can share couple of troubleshooting steps that can help fix the snap receipt not showing up on the app.
First, let's make sure that the app is updated. This ensures that the app has the latest fixes and patches to resolve common issues.
Simply open Google Play or Apple Store (depending on your device), then update the app from there.
Second, If the same things happen, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the mobile app to fix the issue.
Lastly, visit these links to reinstall the QBO mobile app:
For detailed steps on reinstalling the QBO mobile app, see this: How to download the QuickBooks Online mobile app.
Once everything's work, you can start categorizing those receipts.
I'm still open for any other concerns regarding your receipts or entries. If you have questions about how to handle some transactions, let me know, and I'll help you out. I'll see you again soon.
Per my post on 25th October, this feature continues to not display, despite repeated 'toubleshooting' and countless reinstalls.
It seems that there is no interest in fixing this.
I had this problem several months ago. The solution was to completely delete the app from my phone and reinstall it. It then reappeared and worked properly.
I just reinstalled the app for at least the 10th time...same result.
The Snap Receipt function is simply not displayed.
The ability to capture and code a receipt is now just basic functionality in any cloud-based accounting platform, you would think that this function not working for a group of customers would be a code red.
This must be a straightforward issue to diagnose for the QB development team...I'm just staggered that there is no interest in resolving this.
Thanks for sharing your experience in the Community, @nnlequez. We want you to feel that you're concerns are not neglected.
Since you've tried every resolution suggested in this thread with no luck, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care team. That way, you can share your screen with them, and take a closer look at the issue.
Here's how:
Update us here when you can. We want to ensure your issues are addressed properly. Take care!
I had the same problem. Once I deleted and reinstalled the app the icon reappeared.
Happening to me today. AGAIN. Snap receipts is no where to be found in the app. (iOS)
