How can I add my 2nd accountant?

The user limits for QB essentials package is 2 accountants, but I just only added 1 accountant, and I can't add 2nd one.

Any help.

Thanks for your post and welcome to the QuickBooks Community.


You can add up to two accountants on your Essentials plan by going to the Cog Wheel > Manage Users > Accounting Firms > Invite. 


Your accountant will then receive an email invitation which will expire after 24 hours, if they've not accepted within this timeframe you can go back to manage users and select 'Resend' to send a fresh invite.

The Accounting firms section is available on my Manage Users page. See photo below:



Let's try to do basic troubleshooting to check if the error is browser-related. Let's use an incognito window.


Log back in to QuickBooks Online and follow the steps provided by my peer on how to add 2nd accountant. If you've successfully added one, let's clear your browser's cache. This is to boost you browser's performance.


You can also opt to use a different supported browser.


Let me know how it goes. I'll be right here if you need further assistance.

I cleared my browser's cache, used a different supported browser and an incognito window but still having the same problem.

Your question is in the UK queue. However, it looks like you're using the International version of QuickBooks. In this version (non-US and non-UK), you can only add one accountant user. Here’s the International version of the article that you shared:


If you're really using the UK version, it would be best if our Support can check your setup to know why you're unable to add another accountant user. You can reach them using the steps below:

  1. Click on Help and choose Contact Us.
  2. Paste your question in the text box and click Let's talk.
  3. Choose between Message an agent or Get a callback. These options are available during the UK business hours.

On the other hand, you can check more references for QuickBooks by going to the Community main page. Then, you'll want to click on QuickBooks Help articles. For the international versions, just change the flag icon to Global and click on the same tile.
