Hi there, @matthew-grayandp.
I'll share some insights to help you with making your client's account inactive and canceling it from your QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA).
If your client is part of your wholesale discount plan, then you'll have to remove him/her first. Removing clients doesn't impact their accounting data in any way. Here's how:
- Ensure to make your client the primary admin of their company file.
- In QuickBooks Online Accountant, go to Settings ⚙ and then Billing and subscriptions.
- Select the Accountant-billed subscriptions tab.
- Choose the client you want to remove. If the client is currently inactive, make them active first.
- Select Transfer billing to client from the Select action▼dropdown.
Meanwhile, you can now try to make your client inactive again or permanently delete that specific client by following the steps provided in this article: Manage clients in QuickBooks Online Accountant.
Please note that inactivating or deleting your client from your QBOA account doesn't cancel their subscription. They'll have to cancel the subscription by themselves.
However, since you mentioned that you don't want to transfer billing to a client, I suggest contacting our QBOA Support Team to explain this further to you. They can also perform a screen-sharing session to help you throughout the process.
