Hi h2studio. I have some information and steps for you to successfully add Direct Debit or PayPal in QuickBooks Online (QBO).


Before we dive in, what specific error message you encounter when trying to set them up in QBO? Any extra details you can share will help me give you the best solution promptly.
 Please note of the following  when you update your subscription and billing details:

   Make sure you complete all fields for subscription and billing.
   Verify your credit card details.
   The billing address for the credit card doesn't have to match the address in the QuickBooks settings.

I tried to add PayPal or Direct Debit as new payment methods for my subscription. But it doesn't allow me to choose these two options when I tried in billing settings.

After I selected add new payment methods, I can only add new credit/debit card. The other two options (PayPal and Direct Debit) are grey and can not be selected.

I'm here to share some troubleshooting steps to ensure you can pay your subscription through PayPal or Direct debit, h2studiolondon.

 

Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks account via a private browser or an incognito window. It doesn't retain local files to help rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. By doing so, we can verify if the cache piled up on your browser causes this inability to choose the two options.

 

Use these keyboard shortcuts below:

 

  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N

 

If this works, clear the browser's cache to start with a clean slate. You can also use other supported browsers as alternatives.
