Activation code for Quickbooks desktop after moving to a new computer

Hi, 

I am trying to move my Quickbooks Desktop Premier Accountant 2015 to a new Computer. It is a customer owned version of the software.  I realize that support for this product is discontinued but it states on website the discontinued support does not apply to activation services.

I need to get a validation code so file will work on new computer but cant find anyone in support or on phone to help me with this Request. The validation fails each time at online registration failed to finish, please call for validation code. The number is an automated message so I cant get a validation code. I have tried online chat, online telephone support and don't seem to be getting through to the correct dept to get help.!

My name is actually Morgan also :)  . I tried the link you gave me but they are in the USA and cant help.

I have tried UK Telephone support also but they were for online only.

I have also tried Ireland support by chat but they say I need UK support to help me.

Could you provide me with an email address or telephone number (not  Freephone number) for someone in UK support who can provide me with this validation code ?

I am not having much joy for what seems like a simple issue!!

It can be challenging when you can't get support, Morgan. Not to worry, I'm here to ensure you'll get the help you need.

 

Since QuickBooks Desktop has been discontinued and direct support from the desktop team is no longer available, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Online Support Team. They can assist you in obtaining the activation code you need.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click our Contact Support link.
  2. Select QuickBooks Online under Which product is your question about?
  3. Choose the edition.
  4. Type in Need help with the activation code in the What's your question? box.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen process to get the Callback option.

Hi MC98

 

I'm having exactly the same problem.  Please could you clarify exactly how you got through to Zainib?  I have a perpetual license for Quickbooks Premier UK 2016 that I can't activate on my new computer.  I've tried many different ways of getting in touch with Intuit but nobody seems to be able/willing to help.

You can use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 as a workaround.

Isn't this time limited?

 

I should not have to use a workaround to use software that I bought a perpetual license for.

A license is simply permission to use a product. You never own it.

Support will gladly refuse to provide the activation code for your license and they have the right to do so.

You should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA to learn how to use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 for good as a workaround.

Unfortunately it was 2 years ago at this stage but I eventually got through to someone via sales who passed me onto to customer care and they helped me from there. Try this email address.

"You can use the trial version as a workaround." I have seen this answer a few times, can you expand a bit on what to do? Would really appreciate any guidance. Would it still be the same install file for the Trial Version or is there a separate Trial installation.
