The steps for cancelling your QuickBooks account vary on how you have purchased the subscription. If bought directly from Intuit, you can perform the process below:
- Open a web browser on your computer, not a mobile device.
- Sign in to QuickBooks as an admin user.
- Go to the Gear icon and select Subscriptions and billing.
- In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're cancelling a trial, choose Cancel trial.
- For QuickBooks Sole Trader, select Cancel.
- Follow the on-screen steps.

Additionally, for a year following account cancellation, you will have read-only access to your data. Before we delete your data, you will have the opportunity to resubscribe within the allotted period.
