Bank Feeds Re connection Quickbooks Desktop

  • I was running QB Desktop 2019.
  • The bank feeds functionality was discontinued.
  • I updated to QB Desktop 2021.
  • When I open the Bank Feeds Center I get a message saying:

"You have accounts for bank Feeds but are currently not enabled. Before you can use Bank Feeds feature you must open account edit  form select the Online Services Tab, and check the desired services"

  • I have seen numerous messages on this site that say that I should choose Deactivate all online services and and then Activate Online Services, following the prompts.
  • When I do so, I get an error message

"You can't disable Bank Feeds for this account because there are downloaded transactions that need to be added to the register"

  • I have seen numerous messages on this site that say I need to Open the bank fees center to be able to clear downloaded transactions.
  • BUT I can't open the bank feed centre because the accounts are not enabled

QUESTIONS

  1. How can I clear the downloaded transactions without opening the bank feed centre
  2. Is there another way to enable the accounts for bank feeds other than deactivating and reactivating the Online services
  3. Does anyone know how I can find the Account Customer ID for TD bank. The field is currently Blank in QB Desktop

Bank Feeds Re connection Quickbooks Desktop

I’m delighted to have you here in the Community, @GPF Kanata.

You’re right that QuickBooks 2019 has been discontinued and that said you’re unable to use its online services. Here’s an article for your reference about product discontinuation: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy

Since you mentioned that you had upgraded to QuickBooks 2021, we can go ahead and use bank feeds for your online bank account. Please follow the steps below to edit your bank account so you enable it for bank feeds:

  1. Go to Lists.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find your bank account which is already set to use bank feeds.
  4. Under Account, select Edit Account.
  5. On the Bank Feeds Settings tab, select Activate Online Services.
  6. Select any method of connection.
  7. Click Save & Close.

I also added this article for your reference about how you can connect your bank account for bank feeds: Set up bank accounts for Bank Feeds in QuickBooks Desktop

Regarding with the Account Customer ID, it’s a unique credential used to log in to your financial institution account. With that, you can directly reach out to your bank institution.

Let me know if you need further assistance with your bank feeds. I’m just one post away from assisting you. Stay safe!
