This is unacceptable. 

 

We pay for a service. This service is not being provided. That is clear.

 

To say that we can "manually import the transactions" is NOT providing the service as advertised. In addition when you DO import manually - once the feed is up and running again - there then begins the task of having to go through the ENTIRE transaction list - and excluding all the duplicates - this is not QUICKbooks - this is TEDIOUS&INEFFICIENTbooks. 

 

Other accounting software have managed to sort this open banking problem out - yet QB are still dragging their feet. 

 

It's actually possible to sign in with the US side of AMEX - the transactions are imported (with the numbers being correct) but the currency is in USD - so it doesn't work. So there IS functionality where AMEX talks to QB - but clearly this is not being seen as a priority. 

 

This has been an issue since April - it has been resolved with other accounting software since July - we are now in October. 

 

Whether knowingly or not - you are treating your paying customers with contempt. 

 

Maybe stop paying for the Livestreams on Social Media that almost nobody watches - and instead allocate the cash and the resources to paying somebody to get this resolved...?

Hello Gareth, we do want to reassure you we take your feedback seriously. The software works with an import from a CSV and when the connection is available again it is a case of stipulating a date range of when you want transactions to pull through from or have them pull through from the new connection day only to prevent any duplicates or exclusions. We will be updating the link in this Community thread as soon as we have an exact date but can confirm there will be a new connection which we will announce on the link.

How soon will this be enabled in Quickbooks?

Thanks for commenting on this thread, we are working with Amex bank to get integration but we, unfortunately, do not have a timeline in place just yet soon as we have any updates we will let our customers now.

I am so fed up of listening to these excuses coming from a vendor of this scale and size.

 

You have no value for your European customers. If you did, you would have gone live at the same time as XERO or when amex launched their connectivity service. 

 

In addition to this - have you tried an amex upload in this ridiculous application? 

I have to multiply the amount field by -1, else credits and debits are reversed.

 

Its utterly pathetic ....

 

I only have myself to blame, I am the idiot that I keeps on paying for this service.

all went well until I got to Amex and found no working feeds.. then I found this thread.. Aghhhhhh..


Ok... so... February 2021.. No Amex feeds? 

what is going on!!! I tried importing from CSV but the numbers don’t work.

 

so we CANNOT easily import from CSV.. if you import a QuickBooks file then it all works.. apart from the “bank balance” is a negative number unlike other credit card accounts..

 

Come on!! This is just programming...

 

 

 

your competitors manage it.. I have 20 -30K per MONTH going through Amex..

Let's categorize the imported transactions, hallbeckit.

 

It's possible that the items were not yet categorized thus, your bank balance shows as negative.

 

Let me guide you how:

 

  1. From the Transactions tab, select Banking.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to review.
  3. Go to the For Review tab.

 

Afterward, let's check to see if the bank balance is still negative.

The instructions are outlined below:

Good luck. We’ve been banging out head about this for a year. 90% of our purchases are through AMEX. They blamed AMEX at the start then QuickBooks eventually put their hands up after giving us the run around. 
Total contempt for their customers.

The ironic thing is it will probably take them just a few minutes to implement since they already support other feeds using the same protocols, and clearly have an existing relationship with AMEX. From the Quickbooks side it's probably as simple as someone typing a URL into a configuration dialogue somewhere.

I can confirm that importing using the Quickbooks files from the AMEX UK site definitely does give a negative balance once fully reconciled, versus a positive balance for the transactions, which is confusing given the way it is displayed - but they do both cancel out to zero each time you match a monthly payment to a bank account.

The status of the investigation is still In Progress, JohnDavies.

 

Our engineers have developed a fix which should be rolled out next week. If you haven't, I suggest contacting our technical support again to add your company to the notification list. This way, you'll receive an update once a fix is available. 

 

In the meantime, you can manually import transactions using a CSV file. Here's a link for more details on the process: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

I've lost my connection for the last few weeks.  It appeared to have been fixed, but when trying to reconnect, I get the following message: "We cannot connect to your account. Connecting with Intuit France SAS is not available in your region"...

I'll help you reestablish your connection, sm19751.

 

You should be able to connect your account since American Express is now supported under Open Banking regulations. To isolate the issue,  you access your QBO account in a private window to further isolate the issue. It could be that the stored cache and cookies in the browser are the root cause of this error. Here are the shortcut keys:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Once logged in, connect your credit card account again. If it's now working well, you'll have to return to your main browser and clear the cache to get rid of the junk files. Using other supported browsers can also help fix the problem.

This is such a weird issue - I know it's a QBO problem because I previously had my Amex connected no problem for months. Recently I get this error, and on multiple browsers, in private etc. It simply doesn't work... I thought this was the whole point of QBO?

 

It would be simpler to go back to paper accounting - at least a book doesn't close on you half way through the year :face_with_tears_of_joy:

I appreciate all your efforts in trying to resolve the problem. We genuinely hope that you and no other users ever have to deal with these banking mishaps.

 

I checked our reports and found that the investigation is closed. In this case, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Customer Care Team. They can look into the error you got again and, if necessary, send a ticket to our engineers.

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to this link to contact support outside the product: QBO Support.
  2. Choose your product in the drop-down.
  3. n and click Continue.
  4. Pick your QuickBooks edition and type your concern in the field.
  5. Select the appropriate option.

 

Check out their availability to ensure a swift response: Contact QuickBooks support.

 

In the meantime, you can create your bank as a chart of accounts and update this using CSV imports. This will allow you to use the banking feature without a live connection. Once everything is fixed, you can get back where you left off.
