Your issues with missing bank transactions end here, @Luke31. Here are some possible reasons and its way to find the missing transactions.
First of all, I appreciate you updating your bank account manually to download the missing transactions.
To get started, you'll want to check the Categorised tab, specifically, review the Added or Matched column, to look for the missing transactions. If you find them there, but it's in the wrong account, you can unmatch them and move to the correct one. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: Unmatch downloaded bank transactions or move them to another account.
If you can't still find the missing transactions from there, let's take a look at them from the Excluded tab. If you mark a transaction as personal or a duplicate, it goes here. To add them in QuickBooks, select Undo from the action column. Then, go to the For Review tab and categorise it into the correct account.
I'm adding this article to learn how to find the missing transactions: What to do if you can’t find downloaded transactions in QuickBooks Online.
In addition, may I know what bank account connected to your QuickBooks Online (QBO)? I can provide further assistance based on it.
Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need any further assistance in managing your bank transactions. Wishing you and your business success.
I'm here to help you out, Luke31.
If you're referring to transactions that aren't downloaded, the program is dependent on what your bank shares with us. However, you can update the bank account manually to force download the transactions. It also refreshes the connection between your bank and QuickBooks Online. Here's how:
Also, you can check the bank's website for any alerts or maintenance. It can block the transactions to be downloaded.
Although, if you're referring to the missed categorisation of your transactions, I suggest using the bank rules feature. It'll help you classify transactions automatically. You can check this article for more information: Setup bank rules to categorise online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Get back to us if you have further questions. We'll respond as soon as we can. Take care!
My bank connection is active.
2 transactions came in on the same day from the same customer, one of them was added to quickbooks and one wasn't added at all (I had to manually add this in myself).
I have clicked "Update" and still this transaction has been missed, there are more transactions since this date that it has picked up.

Hello.
Bank transactions come in two flavours - "booked" transactions and "pending". If the missing transaction is pending, it will only show up when it becomes booked - depending on your bank, this might take a couple of days, and it will then show up in QuickBooks.
